Renowned Polish photographer, Mr. Wojciech Zaremba, and Ghanaian creative, Mr. Thomas Fynn, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister for Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Accra.

The meeting followed the recent successful participation of Ghanaian photographers in the 2025 Ghana-Poland Photographic Collaboration held under the theme “Photography is Getting Together.” The delegation, led by Mr. Fynn—Founder of the Kownketsia Foundation and FYNNexhibits Limited—returned to Ghana in June with expanded networks, exposure, and renewed commitment to international creative exchange.

Welcoming the delegation, Minister Gomashie, also a two-term Member of Parliament for Ketu South, expressed her appreciation for their efforts and reiterated her passion for training and knowledge-sharing in the creative sector. She praised Mr. Fynn’s consistency in promoting photography and described him as her “shadow” and long-time industry ally.

“I’m glad you made time to meet, despite how busy the day has been. It’s always a joy to see creatives I’ve worked with over the years pushing boundaries globally,” she said. “Pass on what you’ve learned—let young people dream of becoming you.”

The Minister announced intentions to collaborate with the National Film Authority and the Ministry’s Department of Culture and Creative Arts to host workshops and mentorship programs, extending the impact of such international exchanges to the grassroots.

Mr. Zaremba shared his deep appreciation for the Ghanaian creative community, with whom he has worked for over 11 years. He emphasized the need for institutional support to grow cultural diplomacy, noting that the first-ever trip by Ghanaian photographers to Poland this year saw them exhibit, network, and represent Ghana’s image on international platforms.

He also revealed plans for upcoming exhibitions of Polish cinematographers in Ghana, a photography workshop in February 2026, and the showcasing of Ghanaian films at European festivals.

The Minister pledged her full support and encouraged greater diplomatic involvement, stating: “We will help put out the best Ghana can offer in Europe.”

With this strengthened partnership, both parties agreed to build a long-term roadmap for sustainable cultural collaboration between Ghana and Europe, using photography and film as powerful tools for storytelling, empowerment, and development.
