The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward adjustment in the prices of sachet water, citing rising production costs driven by a global shortage of polymer materials used in packaging.
According to the association, the new recommended prices will take effect from Monday, April 6, 2026, and will apply to producers across the country.
In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs of NASPAWAP, the association explained that the price review had become necessary due to the sharp increase in the cost of polymers on the global market.
The situation, the statement noted, has been worsened by the ongoing tensions involving Iran, which have disrupted supply chains and significantly pushed up the cost of raw materials used for producing sachet water packaging.
“As a result of these developments, manufacturers are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the current prices while sustaining production,” the association said.
NASPAWAP therefore announced the following recommended price adjustments for a bag of 500ml sachet water containing 30 pieces:
Ex-factory price: GH¢8 per bag
Ex-truck price: GH¢10 per bag
Maximum retail price: GH¢15 per bag
The association emphasized that the new pricing structure is intended to guide both producers and distributors in order to maintain fairness in the market.
NASPAWAP also appealed to retailers and consumers to comply with the recommended prices to help ensure fair trade practices within the industry.
The association expressed appreciation to the public for their understanding and cooperation as producers navigate the current economic pressures affecting the sector.
