In an ardent call to restore accountability and trust in Ghana’s political landscape, the Chief Director of Think Twice Africa Consult has urged politicians to swear by the Nogokpo Shrine, invoking the spiritual legacy of Ghana’s great-grand forefathers and Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. This call aims to curb the rampant unfulfilled promises and corruption plaguing the nation’s leadership.
The Chief Director, an expert on societal pressures outside the constitution, highlighted that Ghana’s founding leaders, who secured the nation’s independence, were deeply rooted in traditional spiritual practices. These leaders, including Nkrumah, revered the ancestral worship traditions that symbolized truth, integrity, and commitment. Nkrumah, despite being born into a Christian home, fully embraced traditional spirituality and ancestor worship, famously visiting the Nogokpo Shrine to swear an oath of truth and sincerity during the fight for independence.
According to the Chief Director, Nkrumah’s dedication to these traditional values set a standard for leadership that current politicians have failed to uphold. Unlike Nkrumah, who avoided amassing personal wealth and prioritizing his family’s interests over national concerns, today’s leaders often swear oaths on religious texts like the Bible or Quran, only to betray public trust by looting state resources and enriching themselves at the expense of the populace, especially the youth.
The Chief Director emphasized that to restore confidence and ensure politicians keep their promises, they should take their oaths at the Nogokpo Shrine, just as their ancestors did. This symbolic act would serve as a powerful reminder of the spiritual and moral responsibility they carry as leaders.
“Our ancestors fought for this nation with their blood, and they were not Christians or Muslims but deeply spiritual traditionalists. Politicians today should emulate their integrity by swearing their oaths at the Nogokpo Shrine, as did Nkrumah, to demonstrate their commitment to truth and sincerity,” the Chief Director stated.
In his conclusion, the Chief Director of Think Twice Africa Consult stressed that no one forced politicians into their roles; it was a choice they made. Therefore, it is incumbent upon them to honour their promises with the same trust and honesty that characterized the leadership of Nkrumah and the forefathers. “It’s time for our politicians to stand before the Nogokpo Shrine and pledge their unwavering dedication to the people of Ghana,” he declared.

Politicians, Swear by Nogokpo Shrine to Keep Your Promises – Dr. Think Twice
Our great-grand forefathers—the Ga, Ewe, Frafra, Gonja, Ashanti, Fante, Bono, Dagaaba, and many others—who fought for the lands that now constitute Ghana, were not Christians. They were traditional ancestor worshippers and deeply spiritual people. After independence, Kwame Nkrumah united these various tribes, creating the recognized geographical entity we now call Ghana.
The Chief Director of Think Twice Africa Consult, an expert on unnecessary societal pressures outside of the constitution, I am calling on politicians to follow the legacy of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Kwame Nkrumah, though born into a Christian home, refused to practice Christianity and was fully committed to traditional ancestor worship and spirituality. During independence, ancestor worship and spirituality were fully recognized, and Nkrumah visited the Nogokpo Shrine, swearing to uphold truth and sincerity.
Nkrumah never amassed personal wealth, acquired lands, cars, or hoarded Ghana’s money and resources for himself and his family. In stark contrast, today’s politicians confidently swear by the Bible and the Quran, only to end up looting resources and enriching themselves and their families to the detriment of ordinary Ghanaians. The youth, in particular, have suffered greatly from politicians who constantly make empty promises.
To restore confidence and uphold truth, the Chief Director of Think Twice Africa Consult suggests that politicians should emulate our great-grand forefathers and Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah by swearing their oaths at the Nogokpo Shrine. This act would symbolize their commitment to keeping their promises, as it did for our ancestors who fought for the nation with their blood.
No one forced politicians to take on their roles; it was their choice. Therefore, they should honour their promises with the same trust and honesty exemplified by our ancestors and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It is time for politicians to line up at the Nogokpo Shrine and swear to uphold their commitments to the people of Ghana.
