Okai Mintah, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),as part of his continued consultations with key stakeholders and party stalwarts, paid a courtesy call on the NDC General Secretary, Hon. Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, last week, during which he officially communicated his decision to seek the position and humbly sought his blessings.
The meeting formed part of Mr. Mintah’s broader engagements ahead of the party’s internal elections, as he seeks to build support around a campaign focused on the interests, aspirations and future of the NDC youth.
According to Mr. Mintah, the General Secretary used the opportunity to underscore the importance of maintaining unity and discipline throughout the campaign.
Hon. Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey particularly advised that the contest should be conducted in a clean and respectful manner, devoid of acrimony, personal attacks and mudslinging.
Mr. Mintah, in response, assured the General Secretary that he and his campaign team would remain committed to a campaign centred on issues, ideas and the collective aspirations of the youth of the NDC.
He stressed that his campaign would seek to promote constructive engagement and provide a platform for young members of the party to contribute meaningfully to the NDC’s organisational development and political agenda.

The aspiring National Youth Organizer expressed appreciation to the General Secretary for his time, counsel and guidance, describing the engagement as an important step in his preparations for the upcoming contest.
“On behalf of my campaign team, I wish to thank the General Secretary for his time and counsel,” Mr. Mintah said.
His declaration adds to the emerging preparations within the NDC as interested candidates position themselves ahead of the opening of nominations for the party’s various executive positions.

Mr. Mintah’s campaign is expected to focus on strengthening youth participation, unity and mobilisation while advancing a vision that places the aspirations and concerns of young members at the centre of the party’s organisational development.
