A leading figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing, Okai Mintah, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organizer when the party opens nominations. The declaration was made during a strategic engagement with members of the Regional Youth Organizers, popularly known as the Regional Commanders Caucus, whom he hosted to formally communicate his decision and discuss the future of the party’s Youth Wing. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mintah informed the Regional Youth Organizers of his decision to seek the mandate of delegates to lead the NDC Youth Wing at the national level. He explained that beyond announcing his ambition, the meeting provided an important platform for frank and constructive discussions on strategies to strengthen the Youth Wing, consolidate its achievements, and position it for greater success in future political engagements. Mr. Mintah expressed profound appreciation to the Regional Commanders Caucus for honouring his invitation, describing their participation, counsel and solidarity as a significant source of encouragement. “I am deeply grateful to the Regional Commanders Caucus for making the time to join us. I also thank them for their blessing and solidarity, for their wisdom and, more importantly, for their candid and constructive contributions,” he stated. He reaffirmed his commitment to broad consultations across all levels of the Youth Wing, stressing that unity, inclusiveness and collective leadership would remain at the heart of his campaign. “These engagements will continue because I firmly believe that our strength and unity as a Youth Wing can only be deepened when we consistently share ideas, confront challenges together and build on our collective successes,” he said. Mr. Mintah noted that sustained stakeholder engagement is essential to building a stronger, more vibrant and effective Youth Wing capable of advancing the ideals and electoral fortunes of the NDC. His declaration is among the earliest public expressions of interest in the race for the National Youth Organizer position and is expected to set the tone for what many anticipate will be a keenly contested internal election once the party officially opens nominations. He concluded the meeting with the rallying call, “With Immediate Effect,” signalling the commencement of nationwide consultations and engagements with party stakeholders in pursuit of his vision for the NDC Youth Wing.
