The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has assured businesses and taxpayers that essential tax and customs services will remain operational despite the heavy rains affecting Accra and other parts of the country.
In a press release issued on Sunday, June 29, 2026, the Authority acknowledged that the persistent rainfall and the likelihood of further downpours could disrupt transportation, delay the movement of goods, and negatively impact business operations.
The GRA said it recognizes the challenges businesses face during periods of severe weather, particularly in meeting customer demands and complying with regulatory obligations.
To minimize disruptions, the Authority said teams stationed at the country’s ports, border posts and Taxpayer Service Centres (TSCs) have implemented measures to ensure the continued delivery of essential Customs and Domestic Tax services.
According to the GRA, its priority is to facilitate legitimate trade, reduce avoidable delays and maintain efficient service delivery to taxpayers throughout the period of adverse weather.
The Authority advised businesses to plan ahead, take advantage of its digital services where possible, anticipate transportation delays and place the safety of their employees above all other considerations.
“No business activity is more important than protecting lives,” the GRA emphasized.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses while safeguarding the revenue needed to finance national development.
It also wished taxpayers a safe week and urged the public to heed advice from the relevant emergency and weather authorities as the heavy rains continue.
