The First Sky Group has announced a major expansion of its health support initiatives, committing to provide free kidney transplant services in Ghana after years of financing dialysis treatment for patients at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The disclosure was made by the Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse, during the company’s 23rd Anniversary Thanksgiving Service held on Saturday, January 25, 2026, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Speaking in the presence of President John Dramani Mahama, senior government officials, traditional leaders, clergy, business executives, and staff of the Group, Mr. Kutortse revealed that for the past eight years, First Sky Group has committed over GH¢51 million to support free dialysis services for kidney patients at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to him, the intervention was driven by the Group’s conviction that economic success must translate into tangible relief for vulnerable Ghanaians, especially those facing life-threatening health conditions.
“We believe that economic development loses its soul if it leaves the vulnerable behind,” Mr. Kutortse stated.
He expressed profound appreciation to President Mahama and his government for the Mahama CARE initiative, which has now absorbed dialysis costs nationwide, easing the financial burden on families and corporate supporters alike.
With dialysis costs now covered under the national intervention, Mr. Kutortse announced that First Sky Group has redirected its resources toward providing free kidney transplant services in Ghana, a move he described as life-restoring and transformative.
“Last year alone, First Sky Group fully sponsored six kidney transplants successfully performed in Ghana. These are lives restored, families reunited, and hope reclaimed,” he said.
The announcement was one of the major highlights of the Thanksgiving Service, held under the theme “Proclaiming the Mighty Deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 71:15–16), marking 23 years of First Sky Group’s operations.
The Chairman noted that the Group’s health interventions form part of its broader mandate to be useful to humanity, useful to Ghana, and useful to God, stressing that integrity and compassion remain central to its corporate philosophy.
The move to support kidney transplants is expected to significantly improve access to advanced renal care in Ghana, reduce dependence on foreign medical travel, and offer renewed hope to patients battling end-stage kidney disease.
