Former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has raised concerns over the recent mass withdrawal of high-profile criminal cases by his successor, Dr. Dominic Ayine.

Dame questioned the legal justification for discontinuing cases involving billions of cedis in public funds, including those against former NDC officials such as Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Dr. Stephen Opuni, and Collins Dauda. He urged Ayine to provide evidence of internal legal recommendations supporting the withdrawals, emphasizing the need for transparency in the justice system.

He also dismissed allegations of prosecutorial misconduct in the controversial ambulance case involving Ato Forson, describing Ayine’s claims as politically influenced rather than legally sound.

Additionally, Dame expressed concerns about the potential impact of these decisions on public trust in the judiciary, urging a commitment to fairness and due process in handling criminal cases.
