A political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng has declared that the NPP’s preferred candidate for the 2028 general election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not fit to be the president of the republic of Ghana.
According to Dr. Amakye Boateng, the fact that the former vice president allegedly overseen the pulling down of a citizen’s building by allowing the officers used his office as means of threat to bully the owner of the said building has a doubtful character.
He added that a leader who believes in the supreme interest of his people will never cause pains to the people he wants to rule.
Dr. Akwasi Amakye Boateng made this open assertion on Kessben Maakye morning show on Friday when he was been interview by the host on the assessment of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leadership abilities.
The former vice president under the erstwhile NPP government has not learnt from any of his mistakes and will cause the country into situation whereby the citizens will be lay open to bullying, the political lecturer said.
‘’What confuses me is that someone who want to lead a country like Ghana can allow his supporters to use his platform to diss and insult his opponents”
Dr. Amakye Boateng was of the view that the former vice president Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia had opportunities to clear himself but as it stands, his character is still uncertain. A strongman he said would not allow his office to be use to bully others. Ghana as it stands now don’t need a leader who will mess things up because what his excellency John Dramani Mahama is doing shows a strong leadership and leadership commitment as far as governance is concern.
‘’I don’t hate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, but his weakness is what I fear might send Ghana back to worse if he is giving the chance to ascend on the highest thrown of the republic of Ghana’’.
In democracy Dr. Amakye Boateng described is about the economic development and nothing else and that, the way and manner the current NDC administration led by His excellency, John Dramani Mahama is doing is exactly what defines exceptional leadership. If they continue by managing the economy as it stands now, no political party can unseat them.
‘’We know the current exchange rate and the lending rate are very positive helping businesses to flourish as compare to Dr. Bawumia’s NPP government which brought serious destitution to Ghanaian business class. These are the reasons Dr. Bawumia’s NPP were overthrown by Ghanaians in the country’s last general elections.
