A leading grassroots figure of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Ayoub Gibril, has ignited the political atmosphere at the dawn of the New Year with a thunderous message of hope, unity, and unflinching loyalty to the party, declaring 2026 as a year of consolidation, vigilance, and people-centered governance.
In a New Year address that is already sending ripples through political circles, the outspoken NDC stalwart rallied party faithful across the country to remain resolute, disciplined, and fully committed to defending the gains of the party while pushing the national development agenda forward.
“This is not just a new year; it is a new chapter in Ghana’s democratic journey, and the NDC must lead it with courage, integrity, and compassion for the ordinary Ghanaian,” Mr. Gibril proclaimed.
Known for his unwavering allegiance to the NDC and his vocal presence in party mobilization, Ayoub Gibril used the moment to salute party leadership, grassroots organizers, and foot soldiers whom he described as “the backbone of the great NDC family.”
Speaking to the *_Daily Democrat_* in an exclusive interview, he praised the resilience of party supporters who, he said, stood firm through political storms, economic hardships, and relentless opposition propaganda.
“Our strength has always been the people, the market woman, the youth, the worker, the farmer. The NDC exists for them, and we must never forget that sacred responsibility,” he stressed.
Mr. Gibril also took a swipe at political opponents, accusing them of what he termed “selective outrage and hollow criticism,” while urging Ghanaians to judge leadership by results rather than rhetoric.
According to him, recent improvements in economic stability, inflation control, and currency performance are signs that the NDC’s policy direction is yielding results and restoring confidence in the economy.
“Ghanaians are beginning to breathe again. Hope is returning. This is what responsible leadership looks like,” he said.
In a passionate appeal to the youth, Mr. Gibril called on young people to resist political apathy and misinformation, urging them to see themselves not just as voters but as stakeholders in the nation’s future.
“The youth are not spectators in this struggle; they are the engine of progress. Your voice matters. Your energy matters. Ghana needs you,” he declared.
He further called for unity within the NDC, warning against internal divisions and complacency.
“Our opponents thrive when we fight each other. Unity is our secret weapon, and discipline must be our shield,” he cautioned.
The New Year message also carried a strong tone of gratitude and optimism. Mr. Gibril thanked God for life, peace, and the resilience of the Ghanaian people while expressing confidence that 2026 will be a year of breakthroughs for both the party and the nation.
“Let us move into this year with faith in Allah, belief in our values, and confidence in our collective strength as NDC members,” he said.
As the political drums begin to beat louder in the New Year, Ayoub Gibril’s message has positioned him once again as a fiery voice within the NDC ranks, one determined to keep the party’s base energized, focused, and battle-ready.
One message rang loud and clear from his address: the NDC is not retreating, not relaxing, and not losing sight of its mission, and 2026, he insists, will prove it.
