Emmanuel Okai Mintah has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pledging to champion opportunities for young party members and build a stronger Youth Wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a declaration of intent titled “Reclaiming the Future,” Mintah described the NDC as more than a political party, saying it represents his life’s work and purpose after dedicating his entire adult life to building the party and its Youth Wing from the grassroots to the national level.
He said his experience as Chairperson of the National Youth Working Committee and Head of Operations for the NDC National Youth Wing Campaign in the 2024 elections had prepared him for the role, noting that he played a key part in mobilising young people behind President John Dramani Mahama and the party.
According to him, the office of National Youth Organizer should be a full-time commitment focused on securing opportunities for the party’s youth rather than a ceremonial position. He pledged to engage government appointees consistently to ensure young NDC members benefit from employment and other opportunities.
As part of his vision, Mintah announced plans to establish a Correspondence Desk to receive complaints, concerns and requests from the party’s youth across the country, ensuring that no genuine issue goes unattended.
He also promised to strengthen the party’s presence on university campuses by revitalising the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) and other youth structures to prepare the NDC for victory in the 2028 elections.
Mintah stressed that building a stronger Youth Wing would require discipline, innovation, teamwork and effective organisation, adding that the party must invest in its young members if it hopes to sustain future electoral success.
He appealed to delegates and party members to support his candidature when nominations open, expressing confidence that, together, they could transform the NDC Youth Wing into a more efficient, influential and sustainable political force.
