LCB Eyes Expansion of Corporate Games
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the grand finale, a representative of the Human Resource Department at LCB Worldwide, Solomon Dwamena Aboagye expressed satisfaction with the performance of the participating teams and the overall impact of the competition.
He noted that the objectives behind organising the games had consistently been achieved over the years, adding that LCB Worldwide Ghana remained committed to expanding the initiative to attract more corporate organisations.
“We are hoping that in the next few years, the participating companies will be more. We are hoping to bring companies from other industries. We are expecting the financial institutions, oil and gas companies and even the educational sector as well,” he said.
Mr. Aboagye further disclosed that the competition was fully sponsored by LCB Worldwide Ghana, expressing optimism that the company would continue to mobilise resources to sustain and increase the prize money in subsequent editions.
Promoting Corporate Unity Through Sports
The LCB Worldwide Corporate Games was initiated to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional relationships and promote bonds of friendship among companies, particularly those operating within the ports and shipping industry.
Beyond sports, LCB Worldwide Ghana has also established a strong presence through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The crisis management company has been operating in Ghana since 2017 and has been contracted by the Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Health, to undertake fumigation and disinfection of cargo at the country's ports and designated points of entry and exit.
As part of its commitment to public health and community development, the company has undertaken fumigation exercises at markets, hospitals, senior high schools and tertiary educational institutions across the country.
The successful organisation of the fifth edition of the LCB Corporate Games further underscores the company's commitment to using sports as a platform to promote teamwork, corporate engagement and stronger relationships among businesses in Ghana.

2026 LCB Corporate Games takes full flight with Port and Logistics firms in active participation
Companies operating within Ghana’s port and logistics industry have come together for the 2026 edition of the LCB Corporate Games, a 12-to-14-week sporting competition aimed at promoting collaboration, healthy lifestyles and stronger professional relationships among industry players.
The competition, now in its fifth year, brings together 16 corporate institutions from across the port and logistics sector. It is being staged across the Accra and Tema zones, with the top teams from the two zones expected to meet in a grand finale to determine the overall champion.
Beyond the sporting contest, the organisers say the annual event provides an opportunity for employees of participating institutions to interact outside their usual business environment, build networks and foster camaraderie through recreation and physical activity.
Among the participating institutions is the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), which has entered two teams in this year's competition, the Fire Department and the Mechanical Department.
GPHA has been a regular participant in the corporate games, joining other companies and institutions operating within Ghana's ports, shipping, freight and logistics ecosystem.
LCB expands corporate social responsibility drive
The games are being organised by LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited as part of the company's broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and its drive to create platforms that bring industry stakeholders together.
According to Philomena Ocloo, an official of LCB Worldwide Ghana, the initiative also provides an avenue for the company to create greater awareness about its operations and the services it provides.
“It is very necessary for us to give back to the community so as we create awareness of what we literally do. Because most of the times, people don't know what disinfection is all about, so as we undertake this particular project every particular year, it is a way of letting the society that we happen to be around know that this is what we are into,” she said.
She explained that the annual initiative allows LCB Worldwide Ghana to engage directly with the wider business community while combining its CSR objectives with activities that promote social interaction and wellbeing.
Promoting healthier workplaces and stronger business ties
Organisers believe the competition can also contribute to healthier workplaces by encouraging employees to participate in sporting activities while creating informal spaces for companies to strengthen existing relationships.
Felix Segbaya, another official of LCB Worldwide Ghana, said the games were designed to communicate a broader message about the company's relationship with its business partners.
“I think at the end of the day, it sends a signal to our business partners that we are not just about business. We're looking to send a sense of good health and all that, friendliness amongst ourselves. So, in a way, it has brought us together and it has increased the way we do business,” he said.
The tournament therefore serves as both a sporting and networking platform, allowing employees from institutions that regularly interact in Ghana's port and logistics industry to compete, socialise and strengthen professional ties.
GH₵35,000 in prize money
Competition will continue through a series of fixtures in Accra and Tema before the leading teams advance to the grand finale.
The overall champion will receive GH₵20,000, while the first runner-up will take home GH₵10,000 and the second runner-up will receive GH₵5,000.
With the tournament expected to run for up to 14 weeks, attention will now turn to the fixtures in the two zones as participating teams compete for progression to the final stage.
The organisers expect the fifth edition of the LCB Corporate Games to further strengthen relationships among companies in the port and logistics sector while promoting fitness, teamwork, recreation and a stronger sense of community within the industry.

LCB Worldwide Ghana Partners Ghana Health Service for Major Fumigation Exercise in Accra
Crisis management company LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited has partnered with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to undertake a large-scale fumigation exercise across key public spaces in Accra as part of efforts to prevent disease outbreaks during the rainy season.
The exercise, held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, coincided with the National General Cleaning Exercise announced by President John Dramani Mahama following the recent widespread flooding that affected many parts of the country.
Organised under LCB Worldwide Ghana's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the initiative focused on markets, transport terminals, and other public areas within the Korle Klottey Municipality in the Greater Accra Region. The exercise is intended to reduce the risk of sanitation-related diseases that often emerge during the rainy season.
The initiative also supports the government's renewed commitment to environmental sanitation and aligns with President Mahama's nationwide campaign to promote cleaner communities and improve public health.
Speaking during the exercise, representatives of LCB Worldwide Ghana said that although the company's core responsibility is to provide disease prevention and disinfection services at Ghana's ports and airports, it considers it equally important to support community-based public health interventions through strategic partnerships with institutions such as the Ghana Health Service.
The company's Lead for Partnerships and Programmes, Fiifi Buabeng-Baiden, reaffirmed LCB Worldwide Ghana's commitment to initiatives that improve the well-being of Ghanaians.
According to him, the increasing public health risks associated with the rainy season require proactive interventions, making the partnership with the Ghana Health Service both timely and necessary.
“Our partnership with the Ghana Health Service means that we are interested in whatever the Ghana Health Service is interested in. And what the Ghana Health Service’s mandate is to provide the facilities for the comprehensive public safety of the country. So the Ghana Health Service has found it right, and as part of it measures to promote public safety and security to disinfect and fumigate markets every possible hotspot for the spread of disease like cholera, malaria and typhoid to ensure that the country is safe and that is what we are here to support them in, as part of our corporate social responsibility.”
He added that ‘’indeed, this is not the first time we’re carrying out such an exercise. As you may aware, we have done this for schools in the past, we have done market centres across the country and we have done Ministries, Departments and Agencies. The list is endless. We came out strongly during the Covid period and disinfected very many places as our contribution towards the fight against the pandemic.’’
"Apart from providing world-class disinfection services at Ghana's ports and points of entry, LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited, as a Ghanaian company, is deeply committed to the communities in which we operate. Whatever affects the Ghanaian people affects us as well," he said.
Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, described the exercise as a proactive intervention designed to prevent disease outbreaks before they occur.
“Fortunately as I talk today, we haven’t recorded any cholera outbreak. But we don’t need to have it before we take actions. We need to prevent it because it is extremely expensive to treat people when there is an outbreak. People won’t go to work, some might lose their lives, the hospitals become choked and the doctors and nurses become overwhelmed while needing to buy medication and get them places to sleep.”
He lauded the partnership between the Ghana Health Service and LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Korle Klottey, Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, commended the initiative and stressed that sustaining the benefits of such exercises would require the active participation of residents, traders, and transport operators in maintaining clean surroundings.
‘’We won’t just start and stop. There are series of fumigations we have to do around the municipality. The Tema Station market is not the only place that is affected. We have Odawna, Osu, and other places. We are very grateful for the help we are getting from LCB and Ghana Health Service.”
LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited has consistently supported public health efforts across the country through the fumigation of senior high schools, market centres, and health facilities under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
The company also played a significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it partnered with the Government of Ghana to disinfect designated COVID-19 holding and treatment centres as part of the national response to the outbreak.
