ZoDF inaugurates Entity Tender Committee

A ten-member Entity Tender Committee (ETC) of the Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF) has been inaugurated in Accra with a call on members to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct in the discharge of their responsibilities. The committee, drawn from various institutions, was inaugurated at a ceremony during which members took the Oath of Office and the Oath of Secrecy, formally committing themselves to the responsible and impartial execution of their mandate. The members include Dr. Patrick Amoah Bekoe of the Department of Feeder Roads; Mr. Sebastian Syme of the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply; Ms. Jamila Jakalia of the Attorney-General’s Department; Mr. Osman Ali, Deputy Director of Finance; Mr. Suleiman Abdulai, Head of Procurement; and Ms. Hawa Muhammed-Awwal, Head of Human Resource, all of the ZoDF. The ETC is established under Section 17 of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (ACT 663), to oversee procurement and disposal activities within public entities and ensure that such processes are conducted in a transparent, fair, competitive and legally compliant manner. Inaugurating the committee, the Coordinator of the Zongo and Inner-City Secretariat, Alhaji Baban Larmie Abu Sadat, expressed confidence in the capacity of the members to execute their responsibilities effectively. He urged them to eschew personal, sectional, and parochial interests and uphold the principles of integrity, accountability, impartiality and fairness in all procurement decisions. Addressing the committee, the Chief Executive Officer of the ZoDF, Alhaji Halidu Haruna, urged members to discharge their duties in strict accordance with applicable procurement laws, regulations and procedures, stressing that their decisions must be guided by merit and the broader interests of the Fund. “Ensure that all procurement processes are properly documented, competitively conducted and handled with confidentiality where required. You must also remain vigilant to situations that may give rise to conflicts of interest,” he said. Alhaji Haruna further encouraged members to work collectively and respectfully, urging collaboration in ensuring that the Fund derived value for money from its procurement activities. Responding on behalf of the committee, Mr. Sebastian Syme thanked the respective institutions for the confidence reposed in them and pledged the members’ commitment to discharging their mandate diligently, professionally and in accordance with the highest standards of public procurement practice. He assured the management of the ZoDF that the committee would approach its responsibilities with integrity, independence and due diligence, while ensuring that its decisions contribute to transparent procurement processes, prudent stewardship of public resources and the attainment of value for money in support of the Fund’s development mandate.
