Mr. Isaac Obo Quansah, a prominent grassroots member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Mfantsiman Constituency, has called for unity, reconciliation and renewed commitment to development following the party’s constituency executive elections held at Mankessim.
In a statement issued after the elections, Mr. Quansah congratulated the newly elected executives, including those whose mandates were renewed, and urged them to see their victory as a call to service rather than an opportunity for division.
He encouraged the new leadership to discharge their duties over the next four years with humility, integrity, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility to the party and the constituency.
According to Mr. Quansah, the success of the NDC in Mfantsiman will not depend solely on the individuals occupying executive positions, but on the collective commitment of all members to work towards a common goal.
He urged the returning executives to build on their experience while working collaboratively with their newly elected colleagues to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and consolidate its presence in the constituency.
Mr. Quansah also had a special message for aspirants who were unsuccessful in the elections.
He stressed that losing an internal party contest should not be interpreted as losing one’s place in the NDC, noting that the party continues to need the experience, loyalty, ideas and contributions of every committed member.
He therefore called on the newly elected executives to extend a hand of fellowship to those who lost, engage them meaningfully and create an atmosphere in which every member feels respected, valued and encouraged to contribute to the party’s progress.
In his view, genuine leadership is demonstrated not only through electoral victory, but through the ability to reconcile differences, build bridges and unite people after a contest.
Mr. Quansah noted that the internal elections should mark the beginning of a renewed chapter of cooperation rather than a period of rivalry, resentment or exclusion.
He further emphasised that unity remains a fundamental requirement for organisational growth, political stability and sustainable development in Mfantsiman.
He called on all party faithful to recognise that despite their differences during the elections, they remain members of the same political family, united by a shared commitment to the ideals and future of the NDC.
He urged the new executives to lead inclusively, avoid divisions and ensure that the voices of grassroots members remain central to the party’s decision-making processes.
Mr. Quansah, a proud indigene of Mfantsiman, is widely known for his grassroots engagement, inclusiveness and commitment to the welfare of the people. He believes the constituency possesses enormous potential which can be realised through purposeful leadership, effective grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment and a shared determination to move the constituency forward.
He concluded that a united constituency organisation will be better positioned to mobilise support, strengthen internal structures, respond to community concerns and advance the broader development aspirations of Mfantsiman.
“The real victory,” he said, “lies not simply in winning an election, but in the ability to unite the party afterwards and translate that unity into meaningful progress.”
