Newly Elected Chairman Sends Olive Branch To Former Chairman Alhaji Abdul Manaf Walker And Calls On NDC Family Members To Unite

By Daily Democrat News Desk

Ayawaso North has been hit by a storm this weekend with Tahiru Ahmed (Baba Warabeba) winning the Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with an overwhelming 629 votes.

Baba Warabeba will play an important role in uniting and building strong structures within the NDC.

Tahiru Ahmed (Baba Warabeba) has won the hearts of many and the eyes of many with his victory as the new Constituency Chairman.

The newly elected NDC Chairman has raised hopes from the grassroots level.

However, the newly elected chairman has sent a clear message to the community that “peace must take precedence over politics and unity must take precedence over division”.

629 VOTES: BABA WARABEBA TAKES THE LEAD

With 629 votes Tahiru Ahmed has now become the leader of the NDC in Ayawaso North.

Now that the chairperson has been decided the real task begins for Baba Warabeba. He needs to unite all factions and supporters to create a solid political force.

In a peaceful statement to Executives, Members, Supporters and Citizens of Ayawaso North, Baba Warabeba said “I am grateful for your show of faith and trust in me. It is my privilege to have you vote me as your Chairman”.

He made it clear that nobody felt like they lost because he won. He said “We are ONE PARTY. We are ONE FAMILY. We are ONE NDC.”

NO VICTORY WITHOUT PEACE!

The new Chairman has made a strong statement to members of the party. He wants everyone to forget about their differences.

He stated that if the party is not united they will not be able to beat their political opponents. He went on to say that no-one should feel bitter and use insults against others.

Baba Warabeba has asked Executives, Branch Executives, Ward Coordinators, Youth Groups, Women, Elders and Supporters to forgive each other.

He has said “we have had our internal election, now it is time to unite as one NDC.”

He wants members to be disciplined when speaking publicly, in meetings and on social media. He wants the party to be seen as peaceful, mature and wanting to move forward.

OLIVE BRANCH TO WALKER AND OTHER FACTIONS

One of the key points of Baba Warabeba’s chairmanship will be that he has an open door policy. He will welcome everyone no matter who they voted for.

He has said that he will not have a revengeful, discriminatory or biased attitude towards anyone.

No matter who you voted for, you will still be part of the NDC family.

This gives an opportunity for Baba Warabeba to unite with supporters of Alhaji Abdul Manaf Walker (former Chairman) but we shall see how the different camps react.

He wants to unite the party rather than take revenge. He has promised to listen to members, work with everyone and be the Father Figure to the whole constituency.

A NEW CHALLENGE FOR NDC AYAWASO NORTH

The newly elected Chairman has a lot of work to do. He needs to make sure he can effectively lead the grassroots.

Members will expect more organisation, better communication, working with branch Executives and listening to supporters.

Baba Warabeba has realised there is a lot to do. He has said “We need to build our party up again. We need to organise and work together to win.”

His success will depend on his ability to bring together those who voted for him with those who voted for his opponents.

For now he has said peace is key.

The message to Ayawaso North is clear. There is now a Chairman but only through unity can we have a stronger party.

He needs to make sure his promise of an open door policy becomes a reality. Every member needs to feel valued.

“TOGETHER WE BUILD. TOGETHER WE WIN.”

The NDC in Ayawaso North will need to start with peace, work together and get results.
