The arrest warrant issued against Sylvester Yankey remains in force after the court declined to immediately set it aside and directed that an application challenging it be brought on notice.
Lawyer representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had filed an ex parte application seeking an order to set aside the warrant. However, the court directed that the application be brought on notice, requiring the relevant parties to be formally notified and given an opportunity to respond before the matter can be determined.
The hearing on the application has consequently been adjourned to November 17, 2026.
Until the court makes a contrary order, the arrest warrant remains in force.
In a related development, the court fined 11 defendants GH¢300 each for failing to appear in court in the case of Charles O. Boateng and five others versus the NPP and 15 others.
The affected defendants, identified as Defendants 2 to 12 and 15, are reportedly associated with Team B.
The court further directed counsel for the plaintiffs to serve hearing notices on all defendants to ensure they are formally notified of subsequent proceedings.
The substantive case has also been adjourned to November 17, 2026.
The developments come amid ongoing internal disagreements within the NPP, with calls for members to respect the rule of law and allow the judicial process to take its course.

Persons communicating the updates have stressed that their interest is not in the litigation itself but in ensuring fairness, justice and peace within the party.
They have urged members to put the collective interest of the NPP above individual considerations and work towards a peaceful resolution of the internal differences in the interest of the party’s unity and progress.
