Sarah Abraham and daughter, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Speaker of Parliament (Rt.) Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin, Peace Watch Ghana and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) including the Attorney General, imploring them to take swift and decisive action against Madam Patricia Aseidua, popularly known as (Nana Agraada) over an alleged gold fraud, theft and assaults meted out to her by the latter.

Sarah Abraham demands that, Nana Agraada be held accountable for her crimes and also, be made to return quantities of gold retrieved from her whilst measures are put in place to ensure the safety and security of herself, her dependent, Gifty and other victims of Nana Agraada’s nefarious activities
In the petition, Sarah Abraham revealed that, her ordeal began on March 18, 2019 when she sought the services of Nana Agraada in what she believed to be a genuine effort to fulfill her late grandmother’s wishes, regarding an inheritance of gold she left for her.

“I lived with my late grandmother in Axim who left me with a significant inheritance of gold, and instructed me to seek spiritual guidance before utilizing it when I come of age. Years after her demise, I went for the gold where she had kept it safe for me and upon seeing Nana Agraada’s advertisement on television, I contacted her, hoping she could assist me with the spiritual direction my late grandmother had mandated. However, what followed was a harrowing experience of deceit, extortion, theft and violence”.

She further stated, “During my telephone conversation with Nana Agraada, she instructed that I bring the gold along to Sowutoum, where she resides for the spiritual guidance. Upon meeting Nana Agraada at Sowutoum, she demanded that I leave the gold in her possession and return with a sum of GhÈ» 1,000.00 cedis for spiritual rites to which I obliged”.
According to the statement, after managing to raise the required amount, she returned to Sowutoum to meet Nana Agraada where the GhÈ» 1,000.00 was handed to her. “She attempted to extort additional GhÈ» 2,000.00 to which I explained to her I could not afford. I then demanded the return of my gold and the GhÈ» 1,000.00 since she was unable to provide the promised service”.

Nana Agraada, the victim claimed, refused to give back her gold and the sum of GhÈ» 1000.00, stating that nothing that comes to her shrine leaves and quickly, had her associates forcibly eject her from the residence with threats of violence on her .
“Subsequently, I attempted to seek justice through legal channels, only to encounter apathy and indifference from law enforcement. My efforts in filing a Police report at the Sowutoum Police Station was unsuccessful as the officers available on duty that day informed me that they have too many Nana Agraada’s cases on their hands and they do not want to add to it. I later petitioned the CID at the national headquarters but no action was taken to address my grievances”.

Ghana Needs Ghana, an NGO Sarah Abraham indicated, reached out to her and assisted in organizing a demonstration against Nana Agraada, where she was able to share her ordeal along with other victims. “Through the advocacy and intervention of the NGO, I received a financial assistance in the sum GhÈ» 15,000.00 from a benevolent individual who identified as Dr. Who”.
She emphasized that, even then her ordeal did not end and just days after participating in the demonstration against Nana Agraada organized by Ghana Needs Ghana, her household fell victim to a horrific act of violence. Unknown assailants tampered with her bathing water, resulting in her dependent, Gifty, suffering severe injuries to her left hand while attempting to shower. “Doctors suspect the substance to be acid, indicating a deliberate and malicious attack”

“Given the circumstances surrounding this incident, including previous threats from Nana Agraada, I strongly believe that I was the intended target of this heinous assault. It is evident that Nana Agraada will stop at nothing to silence those who challenge her criminal activities”, she alleged.
