The current NDC Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore as part of his unity agenda, has been able to bring together all aspirants who contested for the Regional elections and lost to be under one family to fight for a common goal towards NDC victory 2024.

Explaining the rational behind the initiative,  Hon. Ashie Moore said, the meeting was to  ensure that none of  the aspirants are left behind but rather, brought together as one family.

 

He disclosed in an interview that, about 68 candidates contested for the various positions in the just ended Greater Accra Regional elections but out of the number, 18 of them were elected to occupied the positions.

One of the major task ahead of the Executives according to  Hon. Nii Ashie Moore, is to win the 2024 general elections for Former President John Dramani Mahama and increase the Parliamentary seats to 25.

 

He noted that, each and every person who contested the elections has his or her own expertise, experience etc and therefore, have decided to bring everybody on board, by first settling all issues emanating from the campaign.

“I can say that now we are one big family. You can see that all have come together to think about what should be the way forward”.

 

The NDC Greater Accra Regional Chairman further assured that, the aspirants would be made to serve on various committees of the party since all of them have some expertise.

 

“I am very happy base on the turn-out of the aspirants. Only few were absent with tangible excuses which is genuine. I can tell you on authority that, the Executives dream have been achieve and as soon as practicable, we are going to start work immediately”.

On her part, the National Vice Chairperson for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Sherry Ayittey disclosed that, the meeting was initiated by the current NDC Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Hon. Nii Ashie Moore just to ensure unity for the party.

 

She averred that, the most important aspect of the meeting was to bring everybody on board and work for the betterment of the party, looking at the qualities the aspirants have acquired.

 

She pointed out that, if  a competition is organized, only one person is selected while losers are still giving a role to play hence, the need to bring all together.

 

The aspirants she stated, can be placed on committees to work for the party.

Prof. Joshua Alabi expressed his happiness on how Greater Accra Regional Chairman of NDC and his Executives have thought it wise to unite with all the aspirants to work towards NDC 2024 victory.

 

He therefore, called for a stronger unity and collaboration to move the party forward and urged those contesting for both Parliamentary primaries and the Presidential, to embark on clean campaign devoid of insults.
