The Minister for Education, John Dramani Mahama, has constituted a three-member committee to investigate concerns raised by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) following its recent press conference.
The move, announced by the Ministry of Education, is aimed at addressing allegations made by UTAG and ensuring a thorough and impartial review of the issues affecting Ghana’s tertiary education sector. The committee has been tasked to examine the claims and present recommendations for appropriate action.
Chaired by the Deputy Minister for Education, Clement Apaak, the committee also includes Professor K.T. Oduro, Technical Advisor to the Ministry, and Professor Mahama Duweijua, Board Chairman of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
The Ministry has called on all stakeholders, including UTAG and relevant institutions, to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a smooth and effective investigation process.
According to a statement signed by Press Secretary Hashmin Mohammed, the government remains committed to constructive dialogue and to resolving all outstanding issues in a manner that safeguards the quality and stability of tertiary education in Ghana.
