A town called Yagaba is very best site and suitable for an INLAND PORT in Ghana.
Yagaba is the capital of the Mamprugu Moagduri District in the North-East Region of Ghana. The district was inaugurated on 28 June 2012. Yagaba is located at the western end of the North East Region.
A youth activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress,( NDC ), Albert Atta Opoku – Vohdi, indicated that is one of the promises made by the flag bearer of the his party His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, to Ghanaians.
The young Opoku-Vohdi contended that, since the main objective of the INLAND PORT is to help Ghana’s neighbors within the sub-region of West Africa, it would be proper for his party when we come to power will surely establish an INLAND PORT in North-East region at Yagaba because it is a strategic place.
His flag bearer His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has promised Ghanaians that when voted for him on the 7th of December 2024, the very good people in North-East region will enjoy an INLAND PORT.
“The surrounding Nations can discharge their goods there with little or no problem at all,”
He said that the promise of the establishment of an INLAND PORT in Yagaba when voted to power will serve as the best location of an INLAND PORT which will serve the purpose of creating jobs enough, hence the need for the national purpose to stop northerners rushing to the southern sector to survive.
The establishment of an INLAND PORT at Yagaba in the North-East region will surely serves its purpose to the fullest.
He emphasized that the country’s land-locked neighbors would give the government so much revenue, if they are to use an INLAND PORT in the Northern sector of Ghana water where the proximity is an advantage to them.
According to Mr. Opoku-Vodhi, for a government that promised to sustain free Senior High School and create more jobs if voted into power, it would be splendid if John Mahama voted into power he will surely establish an INAND PORT in that area to create job opportunities for the teeming youth in that area. It would also halt the high incidence of porters (kaya-yei), who migrate from the North to the South to seek supposed greener pastures, he further contended.
As far as the NDC lad is concerned, Yagaba in the North-East Region is the best ideal place for an INLAND PORT because it will generate the needed revenue for the Nation-Ghana to sustain the huge challenges the FREE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL is face then and now, he also claimed that the construction of an INLAND PORT in the North-East region would curtail the numerous chieftaincy disputes there, since most of the youth that are always contracted to cause mayhem would now have something profitable to do.
According to him, the Mahama’s administration will release any amount of money to reconstruct railway lines in both two port in the country TEMA PORT and TAKORADI PORT, sooner than late, transporting of goods in the area will be much easier and the farming products too will surely lands in the southern sector as well, based on the reconstruction of the railways lines. He said such benefit would also be enjoyed by the good people in the north sector of the country, if an INLAND PORT is established there.
