The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterates the need for Ghanaians to be vigilant to protect the right of voters during and after elections to avoid rigging and the stolen of citizens right.
The 2024 general elections is the people’s election and must be everyone’s duty to ensure free and fair outcome of the people’s mandate.
This determination according to the NDC Regional organizer for Eastern Region, Kabore can only be realized through the commitment of all .
“We are going into the 2024 general elections as ‘citizens police’ to avoid a situation where the political will and destiny of Ghanaians are shorthanded.
The” citizens police” concept is an outcome of a two day workshop for all the 33 constituncy organizers and deputies held at Suhum last week under the theme, equipping Organizers for Elections 2024 .

The strategy is also to intensify membership drive, training and education for general voters to appreciate the dynamics of election processes and the need for vigilance before, during and after voting to give meaning to every vote or ballot cast.

He said, the call to prevent and arrest trouble makers during elections at polling centers hinges on constitutional provision of the citizens right under the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30) Section 12, which encourages citizens to make arrests without a warrant for certain offenses”,

The regional organizer, stressed that citizens are empowered to arrest individuals committing crimes including electoral offense.

The training attracted NDC gurus from National and regional who encouraged participants to explain the party policies to Ghanaian for a massive victory.
