TUDEC, an organization that shows love to the needy as part of the Eid Al Adha celebration, has slaughtered about 950 cattle and shared the meat to about 32,000 families across the country.

It would be recalled that, over 600 cows were slaughtered last year and shared across the country to celebrate the occasion.

The distribution of the bags of meat was done across the country in places like Wa, Kumasi, Tamale, Cape Coast, Accra, Takoradi, Akosombo etc. at 63 different locations within these areas.

The excessive was organized in collaboration with Time-to-help; an NGO based in Germany and the Netherlands.

Madam Sukran Kaya, a Teacher at Galaxy International School and Volunteer for TUDEC Organization said, the meat sharing help to bridge the gap between those who have and those who don’t have saying, TUDEC received support from US, Europe, Germany, Switzerland among others.

She emphasized that TUDEC marked this year’s Eid Al Adha celebration with the usual act of love by sharing bags of meat to people from all walks of life in their homes, at their workplaces, at the churches, the mosques etc.

“Putting people first, which is the motto of TUDEC is something the organization take it seriously. TUDEC believes in sharing so that everyone can have a piece of the pie”.

The recipients of the meat were delighted to have received their share of the popular ‘Eid meat’ and encouraged the organization to continue with their good works and always support to the needy.

Eid Al Adha is one of the most important holidays on the Islamic calendar and it is celebrated by slaughtering cattle according to the Islamic traditions.

Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Adha by the sacrificial killing of sheep, goats, cows and camels to commemorate Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail on God’s command.
