Ghana Taking Steps To Improve State Of Cyber Security-Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako

The Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako says, Ghana has taken some steps to improve the state of Cyber Security and also, taking into consideration the need to guarantee the right of citizens. “Ghana seems to be a country that is developing the Cyber Security measures”.
He made this statement during an interview at this year’s Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum 2024 ongoing in Accra at the Alisa Hotel yesterday.
The purpose of this year’s Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum 2024 organized by the Civil Society Organisations the Director General of Cyber Security Authority mentioned, forms part of the plans to put in place, cyber security measures and the right to protect citizens.


This is the first time Ghana is hosting the Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum event in Accra with representatives from 61 countries.
The event he mentioned is being hosted by the Cyber Security Authority in collaboration with the Civil Society Organisations, to engage and understand concerns that emanate adding that, in developing national responses to address existing and emerging problems.
Dr. Antwi-Boasiako pointed out that, the Cyber Security Authority is looking forward at building upon the Cyber Security measures, and undertake the necessary inputs concerns coming from the civil society sectors.
According to Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, Ghana within the first four months, has hosted two International events on the emergency response and also, Digital Rights Imposed.
This he said, demonstrate how committed the Authority is and their interest in specific areas and in the concerned that citizens have in terms of how their data is being used, how their information is being connected, and concerns about digital surveillance.
He streesed that, as participants looked into the future, it is imperative that they confront challenges Head-on, and chat to cause more inclusive digital side.
Dr. Albert Boasiako therefore, tasked participants to reaffirm their commitment to fostering digital rights and inclusion by striving to build a digital future where right of individuals are respected. “I salute the civil society voice across the globe especially the global South for leading the globe for this chat. I thank you for coming to Ghana and I wish you a fruitful deliberation”.
The Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum event, attracted delegates from 61 countries with the aim to provide a platform where Africa can assess the state of affairs of the global south in the digital era.


DRIF was last year held in Nairobi, Kenya and was attended by over 601 participants drawn from 54 countries worldwide.
Since 2013, the Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum (DRIF), continues to set the tone as a space for discussion on global challenges regarding digital rights and inclusion. DRIF is an important platform where conversations on digital policy in Africa are shaped, policy directions debated, and partnerships forged for action.
DRIF hosts diverse skills and capacities for enhancing digital rights and inclusion on the African continent and beyond.
