In a stern statement released today, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated his disavowal of the fake Facebook page operating under the name “SAMMY GENFI.”
Despite previous attempts to clarify the matter, Gyamfi expressed frustration over the continued misrepresentation, emphasizing that he has no association with the fraudulent account. He underscored that his name is spelled “Sammy Gyamfi,” not “Sammy Genfi,” and urged the public to recognize the distinction.
Gyamfi highlighted that he has taken proactive measures to address the issue, including reporting the fake account to Facebook multiple times. However, despite his efforts, the imposter has persisted, blocking Gyamfi in the process.
With over thousands of followers misled by the fake account, Gyamfi emphasized the fraudulent nature of “SAMMY GENFI” and urged individuals to unfollow and report the imposter to Facebook immediately. He stressed that the person behind the fake account is engaging in criminal behaviour, despite efforts to deter him or her.
He urged followers to verify accounts before engaging with him or her and to report the imposter account.
Furthermore, Gyamfi clarified his professional identity, emphasizing that he is a lawyer, an Economic Policy Analyst, and a politician, but not a marriage counselor or motivational speaker. He urged the public to disregard any content related to marriage attributed to him on social media.
In conclusion, Gyamfi warned individuals against following or believing the imposter’s posts, cautioning that doing so would be at their own risk. He urged vigilance in combating online fraud and misinformation, calling for collective action to address such issues effectively.
