The Former Minister for Agriculture and candidate selected to contest the flag bearership race on 4th November 2023, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has appealed to fellow candidates, delegates, NPP leadership and other stakeholders not to see the 4th November election as a make or break issue for the Party.

He caution that It is only to elect one of us to as flagbearer of our noble Party going forward to the Presidential elections on 7th December 2024.
” It offers an opportunity for all of us to unite behind one person to lead the “break the 8”agenda and not to break the Party.’
In the last two years or so I have been meeting party delegates to sell to them my vision for the Party and the nation”.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto  made this statement at press conference held in Accra at his campaign office today.

He However, called on the entire 210, 000 delegates to choose him as their leader in whose hands the NPP Party would flourished to victory come December 2024. “My commitment to the development of this Party is well known to all. Initiating the formation of the Overseas branches, serving in opposition leadership in Parliament and in Government as a Cabinet Minister, are some of the strategic roles I have played in the development of this Party and nation. I am relying on these contributions to convince the delegates to vote massively for me come November 4th”.

Dr. Afriyie assured of how prepared he is, to equally work hard for whosoever the delegates choose to lead the Party on 4th November 2023 in other to “break the eight” to retain NPP in power.

The Former Agric Minister further, call on members of his campaign teams in all the Electoral areas and Constituencies, to work tirelessly to ensure that all delegates vote massively for him (number #3 on the Ballot paper) to lead the charge for an emphatic NPP victory in the December 2024 Presidential elections.

“I belong to the generation of party members who trace their roots right to the very birth of our tradition – the United Party (UP) tradition. But the pride of this heritage does not bestow any sense of entitlement in the current leadership race. Rather it has engendered a real life-long commitment to work tirelessly to realise the vision of the founding fathers on whose shoulders our tradition and the spirit of the Party stand”.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto  noted that even though, the battle ahead is not going to be an easy one but said he is optimistic that with determination and the blessings of God, victory would be theirs.
