The Ghana Garden and Flower Movement (GGFM) has officially launched the 14th Ghana Garden and Flower Show, unveiling the 2026 theme, “Green Means Business, Beauty and More,” with a renewed commitment to promoting green enterprise, environmental sustainability and economic development.
The launch, held at the DuBois Centre in Cantonments, Accra, saw Senior Presidential Adviser, Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, unveil the official symbol and theme for this year’s event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Bawa Mogtari reflected on her recent visit to the Singapore Botanical Gardens, where an orchid was named in honour of President John Dramani Mahama. She said the experience highlighted how flowers and green spaces represent more than beauty, serving as symbols of national identity, diplomacy and sustainable economic opportunities.
She noted that the 2026 theme underscores the importance of viewing the environment not only as a natural resource to protect but also as a driver of economic growth, innovation, tourism, climate resilience and improved quality of life.
Mrs. Bawa Mogtari encouraged increased investment in green businesses and initiatives that create jobs, empower young people and strengthen communities while safeguarding the environment.
The launch was attended by Dr. Ishmael Nii Amanor Dodoo, Chief Partnership Officer of the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), exhibitors and members of the media.
Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa, Esther A. N. Cobbah, said the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement has, over the past 13 years, inspired individuals, organisations and communities to appreciate the value of environmental conservation.
She stressed that this year’s theme highlights the enormous economic potential of the green sector, noting that horticulture and floriculture can create jobs, improve livelihoods, support healthier communities and contribute significantly to Ghana’s national development.
Ms. Cobbah urged Ghanaians to embrace green living as both a shared responsibility and an opportunity to build a more prosperous and sustainable nation.

The 14th Ghana Garden and Flower Show will be held from September 12 to 21, 2026, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
The event will bring together flower growers, florists, landscapers, environmental advocates, policymakers, businesses, educational institutions, development partners and the general public to explore opportunities within Ghana’s expanding green economy.
This year’s edition will feature participants from several African countries, including Burkina Faso and Nigeria, through the Africa Horticultural Circle.
Visitors can expect colourful floral exhibitions, landscaping displays, live gardening demonstrations, expert-led masterclasses, business networking sessions, youth engagement activities, a garden-themed fashion show, awards and stakeholder dialogues aimed at promoting innovation, sustainable living and the growth of Ghana’s horticulture and floriculture industries.
Organisers say the show will also provide a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building and strategic partnerships that will support the continued expansion of Ghana’s green economy while encouraging businesses and communities to adopt environmentally sustainable practices.
