Teshie shooting incident: Victim urges IGP to ensure justice

Daniel Ayi Armah, a victim to a recent shooting incident at Teshie, allegedly believed to have been orchestrated by Gbetsoolo, Nii Ashitey Akomfra III, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take an immediate action into the matter, by putting his feet down to ensure that the perpetrator is punished.

Narrating the incident in an interview, Daniel Ayi Armah said, he was hit by a bullet after stepping out to switch on a light that someone has intentionally switched off when visited her grandmother.

Daniel Armah pointed out that, with blood and pain oozing out from his body, he quickly called the police and during interrogation told them that, he was shoot by Gbetsoolo who also comfirmed the shooting when confronted by the police, with the excuse of protecting himself.

According to Daniel Armah, the mother before the shooting, has called to inform him that some people have come to threaten her to warn he ( Daniel Armah) and that, if he goes out mentioning the name of Gbetsoolo, they are going to burn her house.

Daniel Ayi further averred that, he does not have any issue with the Gbetsoolo except that, there is no Mantse in Teshie.

The police he mentioned, has assured to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and therefore, is of the firm believe that justice would be ensured.

He disclosed that, 3 bullets hit his left arm whiles 2 hits the left leg added that, because he was unable to pay the hospital charges, the bullets are still in his body.

“I am a carpenter with 5 wives and many children. I take care of my family but because of the bullets which is still in my body, I can no longer work. I want the IGP to take immediate action since I can equally revenge with my people, and it would not be easy. I want peace and therefore, do not want such things to happen”.

The victim’s mother, Madam Emilia Atwei Adjetey on her part explained that, two people came to threaten her in their house that if the son did not stop tarnishing the image of the Gbetsoolo, they would burned down their house.

According to her, she can only identified those who came to threaten them by face and not by name and pleaded with the IGP to ensure that, their security is at stake while he ensures that the culprit is brought to book.
