Henry Quartey begs Gborbu Wulomo for forgiveness

The Greater Accra Regional Minster, Hon. Henry Quartey has rendered an unqualified apology to Gborbu Wulomo and Overlord of the Gadangme, Wor-Lumor Nuumo Borketey Larweh Tsuru XXXIII for interfering in the customary and traditional practice of the Gadangme as far as ban on drumming and noise making are concerned.

At a press conference, Gborbu Wulomo who received the apology from Hon. Henry Quartey said the Minister has done the needful by adhering to the caution expressed by the Gadangme people as demanded by their custom,

It would be recalled that, Gborbu Wulomo on behalf of the Gadangme organized a press conference and accused the Greater Accra Regional Minster for negotiating with religious bodies on thei customary and traditional rites.

He express their anger against some Sons and daughters of Gadangme who to him, have allowed political bigotry to get the better of them to lead Public officials and undiscerning traditionalists into appending their signatures to sacrilegious statements composed exponentially in a bid at pleasing practitioners of imported religious while demeaning theirs.

“I will like to state here and now that the acient adage states that to err is human and to forgive is divine.”

Gborbu Wulomo averred that, as human if one realized his mistakes and ask forgiveness, it is prudent to accept the apology rendered and forgive him or her and move on as one people for the betterment and development of the Gadangme State.

He therefore, entreated fellow Wulomoi and all traditional office holders in the Gadangme state to remain resolute since the Regional Minister has shown leadership and pledges allegiance to promote and sustain the tradition, customs and rites.

“We have all seen the contribution of the Minister in the socio-economic development of the Ga people so we encourage him to continue to uphold the tradition in high esteem” .

The Overlord of Gadangme however, appealed to Hon.Henry Quartey ensure that Gadangme teachers are posted within the region for effective teaching and learning of the language and customs.

He charged him to impress upon the Ghana Education Service to correct the false representation in the History Book and ensure that it is rewritten.

The Gborbu Wulomo further, reminded all churches, citizens and cooperate organizations to note that the annual ban on drumming and noise make is still in force and it’s attended restrictions must be respected and adhere to.
