The Numo Kofi Anum (Tesa) Family has refuted recent claims by Regimanuel Gray Limited that a court judgment in favour of the family has been stayed, stressing that they remain the lawful allodial owners of over 918 acres of land, including 123 acres currently occupied by the company.

In a rejoinder, the family described the company’s assertions as false and misleading, clarifying that the Supreme Court of Ghana has already affirmed their ownership rights. A composite plan submitted to the High Court also confirmed that the land being developed by Regimanuel falls within the family’s allodial property.

The family explained that the judgment has already been executed, with lawful possession of vacant portions of the land taken with the assistance of court bailiffs. They argued that any subsequent stay of execution granted could not retroactively undo this process, citing well-established legal precedent.

The rejoinder further pointed out that land titles GA 12369 and GA 18289, which Regimanuel relies upon, were wrongfully issued by the Nungua Stool — a party that had already lost ownership of the land at the Supreme Court. Only the Tesa Family, the court held, can grant valid title over the land.

Addressing the issue of the 12-month stay of execution, the family clarified that it was granted as a gesture of fairness to allow Regimanuel to negotiate a settlement valued at about GHS 18 million by the Lands Commission. However, the company allegedly failed to honour this opportunity, after which the family lawfully applied for and executed a writ of possession.

The Tesa Family stressed that their parent judgment in the Nii Mate Tesa case remains binding and has not been overturned or stayed. They described Regimanuel’s recent publications as propaganda intended to avoid accountability, warning the public to disregard such misinformation.

Reaffirming their position, the family declared that they are no longer interested in settlement talks with Regimanuel and will instead pursue all lawful avenues to fully enjoy the fruits of their judgment.
