The Minority Leader of Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has urged National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the Gomoa Central Constituency to vote decisively for both the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and its parliamentary candidate, Mr. Kwame Deen Yawson, in the upcoming general elections. He cautioned against the practice of ‘skirt and blouse’ voting, where voters split their ballots between candidates from different parties.
Speaking to a large group of artisans at Gomoa Abonyi as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region, Dr. Ato Forson stressed that aligning votes for both the presidency and the parliamentary seat would ensure that the NDC can bring the necessary development to the constituency. He emphasized the potential for economic growth in the area, citing untapped resources and the need for the right representation to unlock that potential.
“The people of Gomoa Central deserve to benefit from development projects that will be rolled out when the NDC assumes office in 2025, but that will only happen if you vote for both John Mahama and Kwame Deen Yawson,” Dr. Forson said.
He further warned that any decision to support another parliamentary candidate would undermine the constituency’s progress, urging the electorate to remain united behind the NDC’s chosen representatives.
Dr. Ato Forson is on a campaign tour of the Central Region with the NDC’s National Communications Officer, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, as they rally support for the party’s candidates ahead of the December elections.
