The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has demonstrated his commitment to social welfare by donating essential items to the Yeji Prison Camp and sharing a meal with the inmates.

On Sunday 6th. October, Hon. Boam visited the prison facility, where he presented a well furnished ten(10) Benches, food, assorted drinks and bottle water to the inmates. The donation, mainly the benches aimed to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the prisoners and show solidarity with them.

Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam together with party executives, party members and some pastors visited the prison for the donation and also climaxed his birthday with the inmates.

“I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and it’s our responsibility to support those in need,I am here to support you with these benches for your comforts as it was whispered to me you’re seriously in need of the benches”
Hon. Boam said during the donation ceremony.

After the donation, Hon. Boam joined the inmates for lunch, sharing stories and words of encouragement. He emphasized the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The inmates, visibly moved by the gesture, thanked Hon. Boam for his compassion and promised to make the most of the second chance they would have upon release.

The inmates therefore expressed disappointment in Government denying them amnesty for the eight(8) years now and also refused to increase their feeding fee at ₵1.80.

They declared support for the NDC and Hon. Boam in the coming elections and appealed to President Mahama to think about prisoners, their health, general conditions at the prisons and help equip them per requirements in the prisons.

This humanitarian gesture by Hon. Boam has earned him praise from the community, with many hailing him as a true leader who cares about the welfare of all citizens.

As the 2024 elections approach, Hon. Boam’s actions have sent a strong message about his dedication to the well-being of the people of Pru East.
