In a strongly worded press release, Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned what it described as “false allegations” from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The UAE had earlier claimed that its ambassador’s residence in Khartoum was bombed, a claim that the Sudanese armed forces have denied.

The Ministry emphasized that the Sudanese armed forces are operating within their legal rights, in accordance with national and international laws, to protect the country’s sovereignty, people, and territory. The statement reiterated the military’s commitment to upholding international law despite the challenging situation within Sudan.

The Sudanese government went further, accusing the UAE of attempting to deflect from what they described as “documented international reports” implicating the UAE in exacerbating the war in Sudan. The press release highlighted the UAE’s alleged role in supporting the Janjaweed militia, a group reportedly responsible for war crimes, including ethnic cleansing, genocide, and widespread human rights abuses such as sexual violence and the enslavement of women and children.

According to the Ministry, the UAE has been supplying arms and funding mercenaries, which the Sudanese government claims are primary factors in the ongoing conflict. These actions, the statement argues, have prolonged the war and the immense suffering faced by Sudanese civilians.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry further criticized the UAE for hypocrisy, accusing it of claiming to reject terrorism while allegedly sponsoring a militia that they said “embodies the worst known terrorist groups.” The statement concluded by urging the international community to acknowledge the UAE’s role in perpetuating violence and violating international law in Sudan.

The release underscores the growing diplomatic tensions between Sudan and the UAE as the war in Sudan continues to escalate, with both nations trading accusations amid mounting international concern over the humanitarian crisis.

REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN MINISTRY OF THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Office of the Spokesperson and Media Affairs

Press Release
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounces the false allegations made by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the bombing of its ambassador’s residence in Khartoum, which the armed forces denied. It is necessary to recall the right granted by all laws and regulations to the national army to carry out its duty in protecting the country, its people, and its sovereignty against all aggression and confronting mercenaries and terrorists wherever they may be.
With the Armed Forces’ full commitment to international law.
These false allegations are a desperate attempt to cover up documented
international reports that expose the UAE’s evil role in continuing and fueling
the war in Sudan and its direct responsibility for the atrocities committed by its
creation, the terrorist Janjaweed militia, including crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, genocide, sexual violence, and the enslavement of women and children. International investigative journalism has recently documented in detail and figures that the UAE’s arms supplies to the militia and the hundreds of thousands of mercenaries funded by the UAE are the primary reason for the continuation of the war in Sudan and the atrocities and human suffering that accompany it.
It is therefore ironic that the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs speak of
rejecting terrorism and adhering to international law while it sponsors a militia that embodies the worst known terrorist groups, and it and the militia it sponsors persist in violating the basic rules of international law.
