The 2024 Global Africa Forum, organized by the Africa Prosperity Network (APN) in partnership with the Africa-America Institute (AAI) and supported by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat and the Africa Business Council, has been oversubscribed ahead of its scheduled event on September 25, 2024, in New York. The forum, which takes place on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), will focus on mobilizing global African investments for infrastructure development across Africa.

To accommodate the high demand, a digital platform has been created to enable registered participants who were unable to secure accreditation to attend the event online. The portal will provide real-time access to all sessions, allowing virtual attendees to ask questions and contribute to discussions through both voice and text. The platform can be accessed via the Africa Prosperity Network’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Prince Moses, head of communications at APN, assured that online participants will experience the forum fully, stating, “All our guests and attendees who opt to join and follow the event through our digital portal are guaranteed a 360 experience.”

The Global Africa Forum 2024 will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, who spoke at the inaugural forum in 2023. Other key speakers include Dr. Adesina Akinwumi, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB); Mrs. Ahunna Eziakonwa, head of UNDP Africa; and Wale Tinubu, President of Oando Plc. Also, in attendance will be Hollywood actor and Pan-Africanist Boris Kodjoe, among other high-profile leaders from Africa and the international community.

The forum, curated under the theme “Mobilizing Global African Investments for Africa’s Infrastructural Needs,” will address strategic projects to facilitate the free movement of people, goods, and services across Africa’s 55-member single market. The event also aligns with the upcoming 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD 2025), which will focus on securing funding for Africa’s infrastructure needs.

The event aims to connect global African investments, public-private partnerships, and US-Africa economic policies to unlock funding opportunities for large-scale infrastructure projects on the continent.
