The Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama has assured the Chiefs and people of LA that, when became President after the coming 2024 general elections, he is going to set up a commission of enquiry to investigate the looting of Ga-Dangbe lands.

“Wireless lands at La have been there for years but today, the NPP have shared among themselves. Many other lands that belong to the people of La have been shared without in consultation with the Chiefs and the people. I have promised the Chiefs that when I come, I am going to set up a commission of enquiry to investigate the looting of Gadamgbe lands”.

The NDC Presidential Candidate made this statement during his visit to the La Dadekotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

He commended the MP for La Dadekotopon Constituency, Hon Rita Naa Odoley Sowah for her continue support towards the betterment of the people even when in opposition.

Unemployment according to former President John Dramani Mahama, is very high in the La Dadekotopon Constituency yet, the MP has trained 200 young ladies in all kinds of skills from her own pocket and has again enrolled another 360 girls to train them in dress making, catering, in hairdressing etc and to present them also with items needed to start work after completion.

“Because I leave in this Constituency, I know the problems that you face. NPP has not dealt with the La Dadekotopon Constituency fairly at all. At least when the Trade Fair was there, four times a year there used to be trade fairs and the people used to go there to sell a few things. Our carpenters used to go there and fixed exhibition stores, our masons used to go there. Today all that has come to an end “.

Elections he stated has consequences saying, the NDC before leaving office did a lot of work for the people of LA Dadekotopon Constituency including roads, upgrading of La Polyclinic road. “Since 2017, nothing has happened in this constituency, nothing, except of the stealing of La lands.

The NDC he assured, would win the coming general elections so that they can fixed the lives of the people adding that, it is important to have a youthful population saying, if you have a youthful population and you are not creating jobs for them, then it become a time bomb saying, Ghana doesn’t need that what happens in Kenya.

“So when we come, things are going to be different. It is not going to be business as usual. This is going to be a government in a hurry to repairs the mess that has been created by Bawumia and Akufo-Addo”.

The people of Ghana he mentioned, are looking up to the NDC to come and rescue them from the hardship into which they have been put in by the NPP Administration.

“A recent statistics said that, 8 million of our people go to bed a day with empty stomach because they cannot afford to buy food. It shows you the extent of poverty that is engulfed with our people. And so when we come to office, we are going to do the things that will turn this economy around as quickly as possible so that our people can begin to enjoy the prosperity that they deserve. But before that happens, we must win an election and the only way that we can win that election is to be vigilant”.

Mr. Mahama therefore entreated each and every Ghanaian especially, supporters of NDC not to go and sleep on the election day indicating that, it is good to campaign for the party likewise, it is good to go round and spread the NDC’s message but, if they do all that and of course the election day they go to sleep, all that they did would be in vain.

“And so on the election day, all of you, 48 hours, you are going to sacrifice for NDC. You will not sleep for 48 hours until the results are announced and I can assured you that the NDC is going to win and if we win, we will not forget you, I promise you”.
