Evangelical Lutheran Church Dedicates Ultra Modern School Building To God

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana (ELCG) has dedicated an ultra-modern All Saints Lutheran School Building to God at Anyaa in the Greater Accra Region.

The ultra-modern school block is a three-story building equipped with Classrooms, Offices (2 big open offices), a Science laboratory, a Canteen, Storerooms, a Sickbay, a Computer Laboratory, Washrooms, and a Library.

In his address, the Director of Lutheran Schools in Ghana, Mr. Joseph B Lanbon on behalf of the National Education Board and Management of ELCS commended the President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana and the Board of Trustees of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana for their the immense support.

“We also acknowledge the work and contributions of our predecessors in the National Education Board and Former Directors of Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools and applaud them for their work. We are only building upon the foundations they laid”.

The school block he indicated, is jointly financed by Ecobank Ghana Limited and Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools with a total cost of 13.5million cedis of which Ecobank contributed 9 million cedis. “Our relationship with Ecobank spans some 20 years. This is not the first time Ecobank has financed a school block for ELCS”.

The school block according to Mr. Joseph Lanbon, has been augmented with a modern kitchen and a bookstore. “We hope that with this edifice we can continue to provide a Christ-centred education for the people in this catchment area”.

He expressed appreciation to all their stakeholders who have had to bear with them during the construction of the new block. “These are our pupils, our parents and wards, our teachers and other staff, Compassion International Ghana, Pastors and Congregation of All Saints Lutheran Church, the assemblyman, Anyaa Community, and all members of the committee that supervised the construction from the start to completion”.

So far Lutheran Schools Ghana has six branches namely: Holy Trinity Lutheran School Kumasi, St Paul Lutheran School, Kanda Accra, Trinity Lutheran School, Tema Community 2, St Peters Lutheran Schools Madina, St Andrews Lutheran School, Bunkpurugu in Northeast Region, and All Saints Lutheran School.

Among the Dignitaries present to witness the ceremony include, Rev. Michael Blodgett, Pastor, St. paul Lutheran Church –Gar Greek New haven, Indiana USA, Rev. Dr. Joseph Ochola Omolo, Archbishop of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya among many others.
