National Health Insurance office of Pru Districts,(a combination of two district, Pru East and West) in the Bono East Region today met with Traditional leaders,Healthcare providers,Head of institutions,Leaders Associations, mainly stakeholders to account to them it’s 2023 operations.

The program was graced by two Regional officers of NHIA, Mr. Alhassan Kwesi(manager of operations) and Mr. Opoku Agyemang Francis (regional PR) and DCE of Pru East District Hon. Haruna Mohammed

Presentation by the District Manager, Mr Ahmed Tamimu. Below is the operational data for 2023.

A target of 128,594(71%) were given to register in 2023. At the year of review, they were able to register 117,120 (91%) representing (64.9%) for universal health coverage of the district population of 180,283.
LEAP/Indigents enrollment in 2023 targeted at 21,957 but registered 33,019 above the target.

A total enrollment of 41,059 out of 63,099 under the E-Renewals as most of the renewals were linked with the GH-Card.

On Revenue mobilization of both Premium and Processing fee, Mr.Ahmed said their budget target for that operational year was ₵703,340.00 of which they were able to mobilized ₵635,114.70 for the year

After accounting for their successful work of 2023, the Manager outlined their challenges that could’ve distract them the work but they were able to overcome it with the heart of determination.

To mention but few, he said the need an outboard motor to reach out to communities overbank of the Volta Lake at Yeji and environs which called on philanthropist to support them an outboard motor. He also mentioned of illegal fee which they called as Co-payment by the service providers that affects members confidence to enrol onto the scheme.

 

Finally, Mr Ahmed Tamimu declared a hard work for the year 2024 to be able achieve 70% of universal health coverage in the districts. A determination of himself and the staff as he encourage and motivate them to do their best.

The P R manager of NHIA, Bono East Region, Mr. Opoku Agyemang Francis overwhelmed upon the challenges of NHIA Pru Districts Office but was able to work hard to overcome the challenges commended them for the good work done. He encouraged them ahead of this year’s duties and believe they will deliver

The manager advice Ghanaians to take care of their Gh-Card as the NHIS Card merged with it. If one misplace it, healthcare accessibility will be issues.
