The Leader and founder of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako has cautioned Ghanaian voters to desist from selling their votes to politicians.
According to him, any vote a politician pays is an investment to take back from the state resources needed for socio economic development and growth.
He stressed that it is time voters understand the philosophy of politicians and stop their tricks and deceitful acts intended to influence voting.
Nana Kwame Bediako gave the advice during his interaction with the leadership and members of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Ghana, as part of his stakeholder engagement after touring the 16 Regions of Ghana.
He disclosed that selling your vote to a politician is not different from what Judas did to Jesus. “When you do that, you have sold your soul and have no moral right to demand development if you’re short changed.
He admits the need for voters to own political parties through voluntary funding, a system well encouraged in the advance democracy.. This strategy he said, helps to fight corruption and encourages transparency and accountability.
He announces the establishment of a fund to support political activities. “I realized that in America political leaders go to the people to solicit for donations which Obama and Trump, a multibillionaire adopted.
According to him, the introduction of the fund, Save Ghana Fund is going to change the narrative of politics unlike in the past, when politicians would go to the people and bribe them.
The Save Ghana Fund he mentioned would be accessible and transparent and therefore seeks partnership between the New Force Movement and the Labour union.
Nana Bediako said he is introducing a new strategy and a new mindset of leadership to change the mentality of Ghanaians.
The best way to respond to an enemy he emphasized, is to copy what the enemy does and do it better saying, a mistake that is repeated twice is a decision and not a mistake.
“You are repeating a mistake and that is a decision you have taken. The mistakes that we have repeated over and over in our elections and we sit down after electing them and only complain say, our economy is this and that. That is not a mistake, it is a decision. As a nation, we need to accept that our collective decision had landed us into the struggle that we are in today and until we start to make greater decisions, we will not make the best choice in this world”.
He however, entreated all Ghanaians to start using the wisdom, knowledge, and human resources given by God to sustainably to advance progress .
Ghana he averred, is just going back and we need to halt it and start doing what is right and appropriate for growth and development.
“We know our partnership will help create jobs of about three million between 4 to 6 years”.
He underscored the excellent contribution of the Trade union and praised them for the effort.

The orientation of citizens on education and the egotistic tendencies according to him brings no solution to our problems as a country.
what is the point of having degrees upon degrees when the economy is running down with no jobs.
He said what is the point of educating your children for 21 years and coming to find out that, they have no jobs.
“I like education but it is important to start educating the people about the resources that belong to Ghanaians. We are going to use those resources to create jobs among ourselves and build economic prosperity amongst ourselves.
This dignity makes us stronger as a person than a degree that has been satisfied by an academic platform that is not going to guarantee our future. Your country, your people, your nation, and your resources guarantee your future. If you can turn it around, your future is guaranteed including your children, children, children”.

Commenting, the TUC Secretary-General, Dr Anthony Yaw Baah pointed out that, the proposed policy by Nana Kwame Bediako in connection with dredging the sea from Accra to Kumasi was misconstrued by Ghanaians including himself.

Dr. Yaw Baah disclosed that, he had come to appreciate the policy after Nana Bediako visited him to shed more light on the vision and that, it is possible.

“If you look at the river systems in Ghana, when you dredge the Pra, Tano, Bia, and others, it easily links for transportation. And his point was that why should we use our roads to transport goods? We can actually use our river systems, once we dredge properly, the vessels can use it, and they can transport it from Accra to the North”.
