The Okyihene Land Protection Agency popularly known as “Okyihene Taskforce” on May 10, displaced arrogance and power in a Rambo-style, armed with guns and chased out Gertrude Fiankobea also known as Yaa Asentiwa and her team after attending a Kraboa Coaltar Magistrate Court.

It is, however, not clear why the Taskforce led by the Akwansirahene of Kyebi, Nana Baah popularly known as Haruna, tordered his men to chase Yaa Asantewaa and her team after filing a criminal case at the Coaltar Magistrate Court against her.

It would be recorded that on February 19, 2024, Yaa Asntewa led over 20 communities whose farm lands were graded and destroyed by the Okyihene Taskforce in a press conference to voice out their pain.

After the said Press Conference, Nana Baah and the taskforce filed a criminal case at the Coaltar Magistrate Court aganist her for insulting the Okyihene and his subjects which a bench warrant was issued at the same court for her arrest.

On April 10, Yaa Asantewaa and her lawyer walked to the court but the court reminded her to Prison custody to reappear on Friday May 10.

But, Nsawam High Court revoked the bench warrant and granted her bail a week after.

The case was heard on May 10 by the Coaltar Magistrate Court and was adjourned to June 12 because, the prosecutor of the case failed to attend court.

Yaa Asantewaa and her team after the court proceedings were returning to Nsawam, then the taskforce numbering about 20 gave her a hot chase in a Rambo-movie-style from Coaltar all the way to Seikyikrom trying to cross her vehicle and whisk her off to an unknown destination.

But through the resilient of her team and family they were able to escape the danger Haruna and his taskforce put them through.

Speaking to the media after that harrowing event, Yaa Asentewa said she fear for her life because, if the Okyihene taskforce could chase her in a brought daylights then what would happened in the next court date.

“I want to put on record that Haruna and his men are trailing me both day and night. After their failed chase from Coaltar to Seikyikrom last Friday, they came again at night with a Toyota Corolla with registration number GE 7616-16 stood close to my family house for 45 minutes and drove away,” he stated.

“After sending me to court, reminding me and the likes, why are they not respecting the law rather trying to end my life for defending my communities and the poor farmers whose farm lands has been destroyed”.
