Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam (Lord Boam), the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Pru East Constituency, has organized a series of events to foster unity among constituents. One of these events is the “Lord Boam Inter-Tribal Sallah Games.”
This games brought up beautiful culture display at Yeji as thousands of people from nineteen(19) tribes came out to cheer up their tribes in the competition.
*PARAMBO ZONE GAMES:*
• Indoor Games (April 12, 2024): Eight(8) bases participated in the card playing game, with “American Base Boys” emerging as the winner. All participants received awards.
• Football Games at Parambo No.1, a sub-district of Pru East. Twelve(12) tribes participated in the football game. Chumburu’s tribe defeated Dagomba’s tribe in the finals. The winning team received a cash prize, a set of jerseys, a football, and a trophy. All participating tribes received awards.
*YEJI ZONE GAMES:*
Nineteen (19) tribes forming teams participated in the Yeji games.
Here are the names of tribes in teams:
• Grusi, Chumburu, Dagomba, Kotokoli, Konkomba,Mosi, Busanga, Chokorsi, Hausa, Battor (Ewe), Songai, Zambrama, Fante, Dargatri, Ada, Fulani, Mamprusi, Frafra and Gonja
Quarter Finals:
• Mosi vs. Chumburu
• Grusi vs. Busanga
• Gonja vs. Fante
• Songai vs. Ada
Semi – Final:
. Chumburu vs Ada
. Gonja vs Busanga
Final (Yeji AstroTurf, May 3, 2024):
• Chumburu vs Gonja
At the 90minutes, it was a goalless draw that brought the match to a penalty shoot out. The Gonja’s won the game and left up the trophy with a wonderful prizes.
All the nineteen(19) participating teams(tribes) awarded
• Scouting teams were present at the final games to identify talented players for future opportunities.
• The event promotes unity and encourages sportsmanship among the different tribes in the constituency.
* The honorable PC has promised of another games coming up with a full cow as an award to the winners of that particular games.
Chiefs and opinion leaders of all the tribes were present from day one(1) when the games started to the finals day. They eulogized the NDC PC, Lord Boam for such a commendable initiative bringing all and sundry together. The organizing committee, the NDC executives made a wonderful job to see the successful end of the program.
Lord Boam received applause from the youths as they charge him to continue to organize more activities to promote their talents as he becomes MP very soon.
