The Executive Director of Good Governance Advocacy Group (GGAGG), Mr. Listowel Nana Kusi-Poku, has appealed to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin and Hon. Atta Akyea to as a matter of urgency, release the full report on the ahoc committee investigation into the leaked tape plotting to oust the IGP.
He pointed out that, in other for Speaker to defuse the ongoing speculations from the minds of many Ghanaians and stop putting false allegations against him and enable Ghanaians to know exactly what is in the report.
The ad hoc committee investigating the leaked tape plotting to oust the IGP has completed its investigations but the report is still not out .
A Committee was set up to investigate an alleged plot to oust the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare suspended sitting indefinitely.
Addressing the media at a press conference, the Executive Director of Good Governance Advocacy Group (GGAGG), Mr. Listowel Nana Kusi-Poku lamented that, since Mr. George Akuffo Dampare became the IGP, an unfortunate killings of innocent people have taken place.
Mr. Listowel Kusi-Poku on behalf of the victims families, called on all Ghanaians to raise their voices and speak against the atrocities saying that it can happened to anyone and the police would tagged you as an armed robber.
A lot of people he mentioned, have been killed by the alleged Unit established by the IGP who are wearing earrings and some with raster hair and bushy bear.
He disclosed that, it was the same police unit that killed some 12 Nigerians in Kasoa including a pregnant woman whose husband they couldn’t trace and have described them as armed robbers.
The pregnant woman Mr. Listowel mentioned, was taken to the Police Headquarters together with those they arrested and short them dead together with the unborn baby on a mango tree at the Headquarters.
He further made reference to a police officer who was killed during a robbery attack which was allegedly, orchestrated by his two colleagues when they attacked the bullion van saying, the two culprits were killed on a mango tree at the Police Headquarters and referred to as judicial killing.
Mr. Listowel also mentioned an incident that happened at Nkoranza where one Albert Donkor, after witnessing a robbery incident that involved some police personnel, got killed when the officers got to know that he has seen them added that, till date, no investigation has been done.
According to him, all indications in the country as far as the recent tape saga is concerned, point to the fact that all is not well in the police Service.
He averred that, in the said tape, the issue of rampant killings and those who believed that when they became the IGP, they can help NPP to win the 2024 general elections. This he indicated, is becoming obvious that, politicians in the country are not interested in the ongoing killings and they don’t care.
The establishment of the Committee he voiced out, was purposely for an elections but in the end, the judicial killings has become part.
The outcome of the report he mentioned, was supposed to be out on the 10th September meanwhile, it is getting to 3 months now yet, Speaker is refusing to bring it to the public domain. “The families of the victims do not understand why Mr. Speaker is keeping the document under his bed and does not want it to be out. Some people are even gossiping that it seems like there is something fishy about it.
