In a remarkable display of unity and inclusivity, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon Johnson Asiedu Nketia, led a prominent delegation to the annual conference organized by the Fulani community in Ghana. The event, held in Kumasi, drew thousands of attendees eager to participate in the rich cultural exchange and dialogue.
Hon Asiedu Nketia, representing the NDC’s flagbearer H.E John Dramani Mahama, delivered a profound statement emphasizing the importance of respecting all tribes and discouraging discrimination based on ethnic backgrounds, specifically highlighting the Fulani and Zabarma tribes. He reassured the audience that an NDC government would consistently uphold and defend the rights of all ethnic groups in accordance with constitutional provisions. The crowd responded with enthusiasm, echoing their support for this commitment to inclusivity.
The high-powered delegation accompanying Hon Asiedu Nketia included notable figures such as Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Alhaji Mohammed Cole Younger (National Zongo Caucus Coordinator), Vice Chair Hon Samuel Sarpong, MP Hon Muntaka Mubarak, and various regional and constituency executives. Their presence underscored the party’s dedication to engaging with diverse communities across the nation.
Expressing their gratitude, the National Council of Fulani Chiefs acknowledged former President Mahama for the honour bestowed upon them by sending a delegation to the conference. The event served as a platform for fostering understanding, unity, and mutual respect among the various ethnic groups that contribute to Ghana’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
This collaboration effort between the NDC and the Fulani community reflects a shared commitment to unity, diversity, and constitutional principles
