CRAG to adopt ‘Green Drive Movement’ – CEO of St. Michael Car Rentals

The newly elected President of Car Rental Association of Ghana (CRAG) and Chief Executive Officer of St. Michaels Car Rentals, Mr. Michael Sarpong has pledged his commitment to adopt the ‘Green Environment Initiative,’ which is aim at protecting the environment and encouraging the use of electronic vehicles.

According to him, CRAG is ready to lead the way in environmental protection, sustainability and climate change drive by adopting the ‘green drive movement’ pioneering the use of electronic vehicles among members.

Mr. Sarpong made this statement last week during the swearing in ceremony to usher in newly executives of the association to office.

He said for the past 25 years, the Association has provided tailored measures to drive home Ghana’s tourism and ensure the safety and security of all travelers.

The President of CRAG, thanks the contribution of the government of Ghana, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Tourism Authority and the Tourism Federation for creating the enabling environment for smooth operation.

Mr. Sarpong said the initiatives such as the ‘Year of Return and Beyond the Return and aligning the various airports with tourism features has greatly contributed to the growth of the activities of the association.

“Our success as an Association would not have been glorious without your activities and passion to promote tourism in the country,” he stated.

“As we embark on this new journey, my team extended a sincere thanks to every member of the Association for their continuous support especially to the drivers who on daily basis travel all rounds to ensure the safety of our clients.”

Additionally, “we understand the Association faces numerous challenges but we will remain resolute and hopeful to drive continuous growth.”

CRAG is ready to foster collaboration with various stakeholders such Ghana Police Service to address security related matters effectively, engage with insurance companies to develop real-time insurance packages and systems to enhance safety and security of both drivers and travelers.

Moreover, “we will engage with government agencies to seek training programmes for our members and also establish contacts and initiatives that will help enter the financial market to seek operational support schemes including facilitating and procuring vehicles from auto mobile and manufacturing companies.

Mr. Sarpong said his administration would ensure organizing an annual awards night to reward members who have distinguished themselves, CRAGs quarterly news letters to update ourselves in the business and auto show to boost visibility and improve customer relations.

He ledges his support to lead the association to achieve the set out goals of CRAG becoming the lead in the car rental business both domestically and internationally.
