In a fervent declaration of dissent, the Caucus For Mature Democrats (CMD) has proclaimed its unwavering resistance to any perceived government intervention aimed at shielding Cecilia Dapaah, the former Minister of Sanitation, from criminal charges. The CMD vehemently opposes the notion of corruption and criminal activities being brushed aside, asserting that enough is enough.
Cecilia Dapaah, whose housemaids have been accused of a heist involving a staggering 1 million dollars, €300,000, and millions of Ghana Cedis, finds herself at the center of a storm of controversy. The CMD contends that the accusations are not to be taken lightly, and any attempts by government officials, including the Attorney General and the Supreme Court, to defend her alleged criminality will be met with fierce opposition.
The CMD’s stance has been underscored by what they view as a pivotal turning point. Following the arrest of Cecilia Dapaah by the Special Prosecutor and her subsequent bail around 10 p.m., the situation escalated when the Special Prosecutor conducted a search of her residence. Shockingly, this search yielded the discovery of substantial amounts of foreign currency, including millions of Ghana Cedis.
The CMD remains unyielding in its determination to ensure that justice is upheld and that allegations of corruption are not brushed under the rug. With the spotlight on this case, the public will be watching closely to see how this confrontation between the Caucus For Mature Democrats and the government unfolds, as both sides prepare to engage in a high-stakes battle over accountability and the rule of law.
