NPP Guru Gives Bekwai Traders Land For Market

Mr. Henry Opoku-Ware, Parliamentary aspirant, Bekwai
Traders who previously sold along the Kumasi-Obuasi Highway in Anweankwanta, Asante Bekwai Municipality, Ashanti Region, are excited about the opening of a new market.

Before the acquisition of the market grounds, trading at Anweankwanta was very bad and dangerous as the traders were conducting business on the shoulders of the Kumasi-Obuasi Highway.

Mr. Henry Opoku-Ware, a native of the town who is aspiring to be the  NPP parliamentary candidate for Asante Bekwai, voluntarily donated his plots of land to the traders as their new market grounds.

Over the weekend, the marketplace was officially  handed over to the town and its adjoining communities to start trading.

The traders  were delighted by the gesture and thanked Mr. Henry Opoku-Ware for his prompt intervention.

Others stated that they had waited many years for a marketplace to sell their products, but no one listened until Henry Opoku-Ware’s timely intervention.

They added that the new location will now prevent them and their children from being killed on the roadside by speeding vehicles.

Mr. Frank Awuah, the Assemblyman for the Anweankwanta electoral district, also thanked Mr. Opoku-Ware for his donation.

He stated that they will collaborate with the municipal assembly to provide shade structures.

He,therefore, urged the traders to maintain a clean environment.

Mr. Henry Opoku-Ware stated that his greatest concern is when he sees traders dispersed along a busy road such as Obuasi to Kumasi.

In addition, he implored the relevant security agencies to join them in providing tight security for the traders.

Mr. Henry Opoku-Ware is a native of Anweakwanta, which is located within the Asante Bekwai constituency.

Over the past three years, he has organized quiz competitions for schools in the Bekwai constituency to identify and award scholarships to gifted students.
