Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako Okyeman Akyempemhene Donates Text Books To Locals Schools In Akyem Abuakwa

The currently installed Akyempemhene of Akyem Abuakwa in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditonal Area of the Eastern Region,
Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako, has donated of text books to the various local schools in Akyem Abuakwa to help contribute to the quality education to the teeming school going children in his area.

The donation of the books to schools within his area of jurisdiction, according to the chief formed part of commemoration of his one anniversary celebration of his successfully installation to ascend the throne in Akyem Abuakwa.

According to the chief, he is ready to continue to help to make education to grow more efficiently for our future leaders in the area.

Speaking in an interview with journalists Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako assured his readiness to invest heavily in the education of the teeming children in the villages and towns within his area.

He expressed his sadly about the falling standard of education in the area and minced no words when he stated that he ready to partner the stakeholders in the education sector to address the falling standard of education in the area.

He said the performance of their children in the area was not encouraging, hence the need for stakeholders to adopt innovative measures to reverse the trend.

“As citizens, we must be concerned about the state of education in our community and it is our responsibility to support the government’s drive towards achieving access to quality education for everyone in the area ,” he stated.

He said, “I deem it fit to make education development my priority and it is my duty as a traditional office holder to support the growth of education in my area to help produce productive citizens who will contribute to develop the area and the country in general.”

Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako pledged his outfit commitment to prioritise education development by regularly visiting schools in their respective communities to monitor and help solve pertinent issues that affected the progress of teaching and learning process in the schools.

While urging the district education directorate to strengthen their surveillance and monitoring, as well as supervision to curtail teacher lateness and absenteeism in schools, the Akyempemhene also advised parents to develop keen interest in their children’s education and provide them with their basic needs.

Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako pledged his continued support towards creating employment opportunities for the youth of the area and ensure that the stability and the ambience of peace and unity that has prevailed in Okyeman is sustained and deepened.

It will be recalled that the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin and the Akyem Abuakwa Traditonal Council have enstooled Barima Kwame Antwi Boasiako as the new Akyempemhene of Akyem Abuakwa.

This follows the passing of Barima Danso Abeam Okokroko, the last occupant of the stool, seventeen years ago.

According to many, his altruistic disposition has endeared him to a wide circle of contacts and friends and has been touted as the needed impetus for the expedited growth in the human resource and commercial capacity of Akyem Abuakwa.

Known in private life as Eric Kwame Antwi, the new Akyempemhene has been described by many as a man of thought and action who has in all the varying capacities he has served throughout his private life exhibited absolute competence and integrity.
