An official of the Ghana Lands Commission has provided free advice to the Chairman and CEO of McDan Group, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, urging him to apprise himself of the difference between state lands and stool lands. The advice from the official on condition of anonymity, comes on the back of recent legal rulings against him. In a Ghana Web publication dated 11th February, 2024 Mcdan was sued for allegedly trespassing. The plaintiff Magnus A. L Souza has sued Mckorley and one Nii Mensah Ashong for trespassing on his land.
According to the report he is also engaged in a legal tussle on a land assigned to one Madam Stella Ababio. The land is behind the Oak Plaza Hotel at Okponglo in East legon, Accra. The facts per the search at the lands commission points to the fact that McDan is not the rightful owner of the land but trying to use force and drawing innocent politicians into the fray. “He has chosen to rely on a noted proposal, but he very much should know that noted proposals do not confer interest in land matters.”
“It is his lack of understanding on these basic differences that is making him engage in all these arbitrary trespasses. I am not surprised he continues to encounter these legal tussles all against him” the official said
