The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) proudly extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar on her well-deserved nomination as the new Minister for Information.

This follows her excellent performance as the deputy Information Minister in the same administration.

Through her distinguished commitment to public service, Ms. Abubakar has demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and a deep understanding of the role of the media in information dissemination. Her dedication to promoting the welfare of journalists aligns seamlessly with our shared values and objectives.

PRINPAG looks forward to forging a robust and mutually beneficial working relationship with Ms. Abubakar. We remain committed to collaborating closely with her office to advance the interests of journalists, uphold press freedom, and safeguard the vital role of the media in the Ghanaian society.

As an organization dedicated to upholding the rights and welfare of publishers, journalists and writers, we believe that our partnership with Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar will contribute significantly to creating an enabling environment for the media to thrive. Together, we can work towards ensuring that journalists have the necessary support, resources, and protections to fulfill their essential role in informing the public and holding power to account.

PRINPAG remains steadfast in its mission to promote ethical journalism, defend press freedom, and advocate for the interests of media professionals in Ghana. We are confident that under Minister Abubakar’s stewardship, our collective efforts will lead to a stronger, more vibrant media landscape that serves the best interests of the Ghanaian people.

We congratulate Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar once again on her appointment and express our readiness to collaborate with her in building a more transparent, inclusive, and democratic society through the power of information and journalism.

We use this opportunity to congratulate the immediate past Information Minister, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (MP), on his reassignment to the Works and Housing Ministry. We appreciate all the services and support he gave to PRINPAG while he was with our sector. We wish him all the best in his new office.
