Ghana Will Implement Visa Free This Year-President Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has disclosed that, his Government is committed to ensuring Visa Free for all Africans traveling to Ghana and that, the process would began to implement this year before he leaves office.

President Akufo-Addo made this assurance when speaking at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2024 Business and Policy Leaders Dialogues held in Ghana at Peduase Presidential Lodge in the Akuapem Hills of the Eastern Region on the theme, “Developing Prosperity in Africa: Produce, Add, Value and Trade”.

The focus of Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2024 is to come out with a concrete measures to lead to Africans in achieving prosperity for the African continent.

Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) is ororganism this year event in collaboration with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.

Africa according to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, has the capacity to industrialized, add value to its raw materials and invest to build the social digital economic and physical infrastructure that would connect the people and businesses across Africa in the intra African trade.

The President pointed out that, Africa account for 3 percent of global trade and intra African trade which he stated, is one of the lowest of any region globally. “This is largely due to the Colonia economic model cultural by small individual economies fragmented and disconnected regional markets, over reliance on the export of primary commodities in the presence of low production capacities which have been well and existence”.

He added that, to foster intra African trade, AfCFTA has to ensure that it continue to create opportunities for businesses to expand beyond their borders, driving economic growth and create more integrated growth and intercontinental continent.

Africa he stated, need to grow heavily of the sustainable farming practices coupled with targeted investment in infrastructure for innovation and technology especially, in agro business and industry to boost production, whilst ensure resilience of the agriculture sector in the face of evolving global challenges and climate change.

“This Dialogues has to find ways to realized the commitment that have been made loudly and clearly to African Governments to deepened and resolved in achieving their decisions reaching the compact. It must be a representative for all sector leaders to carry Africa and ensure that, the growth target are sustainable irrespective of future global challenge. This dialogues has to examine critically responsibilities and expectations of the private sector and demand same of the public sector to achieve Africa that we want”.

President Akufo-Addo therefore, called for the need for Africans to strengthen themselves to resolve working hand in hand with governments in free and fair democratic system of Governance that promotes safe and sound legal and Institutional framework.
