The Citizen Eye Ghana (CITEG) has stated that, the emotional comment of “Show Down” made by Hon. Kennedy Agyepong during the supper delegate conference is the same as that of President Akufo’s All Die Be Die” mantra and other speech by some NPP Members which mean nothing.

This was disclosed at a press conference address by Mr. Alex Kwaku Tetteh to set the record straight as far as the meaning of the “Show Down” comment is concerned.

Addressing the Media, Mr. Alex Tetteh pointed out that, Hon. Agyepong who was one of the contesting Aspirant, was just expressing his preparedness to participate actively in the upcoming November elections and compete with other candidates.

“The recent video circulating on social media featuring Hon. Ken using the phrase “Show Down” should not be misconstrued as a threat to the President or Vice President. In context, Hon. Ken was expressing his resolve to participate actively in the upcoming November elections and compete with other candidat is phrase should not be sensationatized of Misinterpreted”.

He indicated that, the Media took Hon. Ken Agyepong’s phrase out of context and chastised them to be guided by the truth.

“We, the representatives of Citizen Eye Ghana, stand before you today to address the prevailing misinformation and concems that have arisen in recent times after the super delegates conference of the NPP. We believe in the importance of truth, transparency, and the responsible dissemination of information to our fellow citizens”.

Mr. Tetteh alleged that, if Ghanaians made the mistake and entrusted the destiny of Ghana into the hands of Vice President Bawumia, the country’s economy would come to a stand still saying, he is behind the collapse of the numerous banks and the indebtedness of Bank of Ghana.

He accused Vice President Bawumia for bringing the image of the NPP down all because of his lies and therefore, does not deserve to lead the party.

Mr. Tetteh however, entreated the Chief Imam to advise Vice President to step down because, he does not speak the truth and it is against the religion of Islam.

The Parliamentary Candidate for Okai Koi North and member of CITEG, Mr. Prince Owusu Mensah reiterated their commitment to promoting transparency, responsible journalism, and the dissemination of accurate information. “Our plea is for all stakeholders to uphold the principles of fairness and jstice as we move forward in this critical electoral process”.

He said as civil society organization, they are concemed about the feedback from Hon. Ken’s campaign team headed by Mr. Kwang Owusu Maritime. “We recommend that Hon. Ken consider reviewing or reassigning this role to ensure the satisfaction and alignment of his supporters.


Mr. urged the media to exhibit responsible reporting and factchecking before disseminating any inform of that sort to the public.
