Government officials richer than their institutions-Hassan Ayariga

The Founder and Leader of All People’s, Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga says, Chief Executive Officer, (CEOs) and Government officials are richer than state institutions under their control.

“Today, I speak on an authority that, CEOs and Government some officials are richer than the institutions they managed and that is s fact”.

He made this statement when speaking at the World Youth Empowerment Congress Programme organized in collaboration with the University of Ghana (City Campus SRC) in Accra.

Government Mr. Ayariga stated, appoints CEOs to a particular institution when they have nothing, but become richer few years in office than their institution.

He noted that, the country’s educational curricular is not solution incline to help graduates secure employment but continuous creating unemployed graduates.

Hon. Ayariga was of the view that, the country’s educational should training graduates to be creative, Innovative, and entrepreneurs but not graduates who only know how to write and pass exams.

He therefore, called for a change in the educational curricular to fit into the 21st Century demands so that, whatever training given to the students can improve productivity.

“But what we train now are students who come out from school and instead of creating jobs, are rather looking for jobs. They are supposed to train people to create jobs. They are not to train people to look for job”


The informal sector according to Hon. Ayariga, is doing better than the former sector mentioning the mechanics, hairdressers tailors as an example. That is why we need to change the educational curricular to fit into the 21st Century”.

The Flagbearer and Founder of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr. Kofi Akpalu on his part, advised students to start learning something on their own whiles in school adding that, education is important but that alone cannot put food on the table looking at the current situation.

He noted that, because there is no support for the youth to move forward in life, it have become necessary for them to have a vision in school before they comes out.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BoD Mogul Consult, Bernard Osei-Duah noted that, the modern trend is such that, student without skills would be useless and entreated them to make friends and connect with people. “Let people know who you are by building solid character”.

Dr. Courage Dogby, a Professional Medical Doctor who spoked about motivation and lifestyle, urged students to always be with a motivator whom they can tapped an inspirational from.

Paa Kwasi Schantdorf, a Writer, Journalist and Corporate MC also tasked students to understand their purpose in life saying, the educational system in the country is not helping at all.

“Some of the subjects in our schools are useless and cannot lead to employment. National Service Scheme does not also serve useful purposes. The systems in the country have broken down”.

The Founder and Leader of World Youth Empowerment Congress, Wilson Ofori Barny in an interview, entreated students to tune their minds to something positive towards what they want to achieve in future.

He explained that, the programme was organized to open up to students to join, in other to grow them for a positive impact in wherever they find themselves in life.

The General Secretary for World Youth Empowerment Congress, Madam Comfort Afriyie Barwuah on her part said, the motive behind the Congress is to awake students to be an agent of positive change in wherever they find themselves, towards the development of the country.
